The walk up from the beach front is very pleasant and the view from the tower is worth the trip. Unfortunately it is no longer open and says will not be until further notice.

It is a nice destination for a half-day tour. You can walk/hike up and down the hill and it is a nice view over the bay and over to Gozo. It gives a nice impression how Malta was fortified against the sea.

This is a very nice walk on the long back road but hard on the back of your legs! so take your time and take plenty of water with you with good walking shoes or boots worth every bit of pain.

We drove to the towel for a short walk around. The info is outdated and it isn’t clear whether it is under refurb or not. It appears there may have been plans for a nature reserve at some point that are no longer viable. That...More

We walked up to the Red Tower on New Years Day. Unfortunately it was closed (Also closed Christmas Day and Easter Sunday) so we couldn't go inside but the walk there and around the surrounding area gave great views to Gozo and back to Mellieha.

Decided to walk from the hotel, used the 2000 nature walk as a cut through. Steep climb but definitely worth it. Views from top are amazing. Walked further up the road after and found total peace and quiet and even better views.

I returned in December, with a friend this time, who agreed it's a great quirky little place to explore for half an hour or so. The €2 entry is reasonable, the views from the top are great, and it is interesting walk further along the...More

We walked from the hotel through I think a conservation area and up three sets of wooden steps. When you get there it's certainly worth the effort

You can enjoy a splendid 360 degrees panorama from the castle to Mellieha and even to Gozo. Small detour from the main road that leads from Mellieha to the Gozo ferry.
