Good walk along the shore
May 2019
We did an easy trek from Golden Bay to Popeye village. It goes along the cliffs and offers nice views, including ones towards the cliffs of Gozo island. There's also a tower on the trail however it's closed. I recommend making a walk in the morning as the sunlight will provide nice photo opportunities.

Beautiful
Nov 2019
Returning visit to area, always a pleasure to go to visitor centre and spend some time wandering the park looking at scenery and old forces buildings still there. looking lovely this time plenty of greenery and trees growing up, still got potholes and horses to be mindful of.

Beautiful coastal views
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is a beautiful barren area with some amazing coastal views. The trails are walkable, but they are rough, so you need good shoes.

Sustainable garden course, well done!
Apr 2018 • Friends
I participated a sustainable garden course over several weeks (once a week 2 hrs) held by Peter Gatt. It was very informative and interesting!! My best course so far, I've done few over the past years. Thanks a lot for sharing all your information with us!
Nice park and visitor centre, the course was held in the centre.

A beautiful barren, unspoilt landscape
Apr 2018 • Couples
Had a lovely afternoon walking to the Ta’ Ċiantar (Għajn Żnuber) tower. Lovely views toward Gozo across the blue seas. The area is littered with beehive structures called ‘girnas’, which are farmers’ shelters. Lots of lovely flowers everywhere. Definitely worth a visit.

At the edge of Golden Bay and just past the Malta National Scout Centre, lies the
Majjistral national park. Wild natural beauty, historical site, well worth a visit

Beautiful in the spring time
Apr 2017 • Couples
The gorgeous flowers are everywhere. I don't know wht it would be like in summer, I've heard Malta is hot and dusty. But the nature reserve is calm, and interesting. I wish I knew more about the "ghost village" of abandoned houses. And what the buildings are in the reserve. There are stories to be told.
It's an interesting place. I'd wear sturdy shoes. We are staying in the nearby hotel so it's just a walk outside the gates.

A rambling walk in one of the last unspoilt areas of Malta. Wild at times, with cliffs and bracing views. Good for biking, and nature,

Ancient history meets modern history

It is definitely well worth the time to explore the ruins and surrounds located in this parkland. This site having been occupied from pre historic times through to its use in World War II, there are plenty of ruins to explore!

The visitor centre is informative and well worth a look, even if only to give you pointers on the flora and fauna to keep an eye out for.

Lovely walk at this time of year
Feb 2017 • Couples
Start outside Popeye Village and walk down through the reserve, finishing in Golden Bay. Fantastic views. The ground was covered with wild flowers. Friendly visitor centre. Nice, not too strenuous walk.
