What a great day!
Staying in Sliema it took 40mins on the local bus for €2 to the English Rose in Mellieha Bay.
Sandro the captain was so lovely! The boat was less crowded than other tours which made it an even more relaxing trip within COVID times.
The boat takes you to the blue lagoon and crystal lagoon admiring caves on your journey to both destinations. At both we enjoyed swimming & had drinks/ food from local food stalls.
I 100% recommend and will be back!!

Fantastic cruise highly recommend much better than the bigger packed cruise boats. Nice captain and very reasonable prices for drinks on board. Got to visit the Blue Lagoon and the Crystal Lagoon. Helpful leant us scube masks too. Was on time and a bargain at €13 euros. Thank you we will be back.

Had a great time on the blue lagoon boat trip with Sandro. Very reasonably priced at €13 pp for a good day out. The boat leaves from by the beach in Mellieha which is very handy if you don’t want to have to get the bus to the ferry port. We sailed around the island of Comino, visiting a few caves, before stopping at the blue lagoon. We had 2.5 hours here which was plenty of time to swim in the lagoon. The boat has a toilet and other amenities such as swim floats for swimming in the lagoon, and a ladder for entering the sea. After this, we stopped at Crystal lagoon for another 45 minute swim before sailing back to Mellieha. I would definitely recommend English rose cruises if you’d like a day trip to the blue lagoon.

Great trip out to Comino island and Blue Lagoon. Well worth the money. Relaxed and friendly trip. We took our own drinks on board but there is no need as the prices from the on board shop are dirt cheap. Highly recommend.

We booked a tour several weeks in advance and received a confirmation of the booking from the owner. However, on the day of the tour no one showed up. I called and was simply told "we are not operating today". This is completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I would not recommend English Rose Cruises.

I booked a Comino cruise a few days before arriving in Mellieha in August. The company took its time to confirm my place, but eventually did. The captain even confirmed my place the day before the cruise was meant to take place. I arrived promptly at the port (9.15am) on the day of the cruise, but did not find the boat. I texted the company asking where the boat was, the text was marked as "Read", yet I received no reply, no apology for the cancellation, nothing. Other people at the port told me that apparently this is an habit - the company cancels tours randomly but does not even bother informing its customers. Please do not waste your time. They even knew that that day was my last one in Malta, and did not even have the courtesy to inform me so that I could plan in advance and book a tour with another company.

On holidays, husband and I always love going on a boat of sorts whether it's a tour or fishing. We were recommended the English Rose Cruise by an English waitress at a restaurant in Mellieha. Trip Advisor confirmed this recommendation with the good reviews (and bad ones on other cruises) and we booked our place - you don't have to book you can just turn up but we went out of season.
I can honestly say if we had another week here we'd go again on another day (they do different cruises through the week days). The boat is smaller than the others so it feels less touristy and crowded, more intimate plus it's small enough to get into the caves on the cruise (larger boats sit away and simply view the caves). The two guys were really great, only went on the speaker when they needed to otherwise let us al enjoy the ride.
The blue lagoon is amazing, top tip: the boat moors at a small stone jetty, take your swim here as everyone goes to the tiny man made beach which even out of season is utterly crowded. Be careful as other boats are in and out of the area but we stayed in the little crevice by the jetty, it was almost a private bit of sea for us!
They serve fresh sandwiches on board (and by fresh I mean they make it there for you), they have drinks, beers and ice creams - all really cheap! Oh and did I mention the ticket price of €12.50? Crazy amount for such a cruise from 10:45 to 4:30!
Finally we went to the Crystal lagoon, easily the best bit. We walked up on too of the cliff edge to admire the view then back to the boat where we jumped in and swam in and around the rocks. The water was just stunning and a bigger boat just cannot get you this close. The only other boats were private hire or private owned boats and jet skis.
What an amazing day, I'm so glad we asked that waitress for advise! The cruise is without a doubt the highlight of our holiday.

The island of Comino is the most beautiful place and the clearest blue sea I have ever swam in. the English rose is the perfect boat trip and excellent value for money. The owner of the boat is really helpful and goes out of his way to accommodate all your needs.
My youngest son has a serious nut allergy and it is great that the sandwispches are freshly made on the boat. While in Comino the English rose stays which means you can use it as your base. My teenage children love jumping and diving off the boat.
This year we also managed to go on the evening BBQ cruise which was amazing. We sat on the boat watching the sunset while our children swam in the sea.following the food they put on music and everyone danced the night away. The quality of the food was fantastic

someone offered us a tour, for the next day, he was at Mellieha beach, it was a great move!
The boat looked busy, and we don't like squashed trips, we would prefer to pay more to get the right thing, however our fears was unfounded, there was plenty of room.
The people running the cruise were informative, helpful and knowledgeable with a wealth of experience, this combination made for a great trip!
We saw the blue lagoon, grottos, caves, aqua seas, crystal waters, comino, Gozo you name it we saw it, swam in it, walked on it, ate at it, Snorkelled in it! I couldn't believe you could do so much and not feel like it had cost you a fortune and be out for the day!
It was so hard to chose which cruise to do, I am pleased we took the plunge with this one, it was great!
Also, clean loo on board and food and drink so well priced it would certainly be pointless taking your own!

A small (about 20 -25 passengers) boat with a very friendly and attentive crew touring to Comino and the Blue Lagoon. The tour costs only 12 € and is paid when you arrive at the boat. Normally the trip lasts between 11 and 16.30, but sure to be there at 10.30 if you want a seat in the shade. Booking in advance during high season is recommended, since some passengers were turned down while we were waiting for the boat to leave. The boat leaves from the Tunny Net Jetty in Mellieha Bay, which makes the trip to the Blue Lagoon a mere 45 minutes, including a few short visits to some caves on the way.
At Blue Lagoon the boats stops for about 2 1/2 hours, but you have full access to the facilities (toilet, snacks & drink and fresh water shower) of the boat during the stay, you can even use the top deck for a jump into the water. Do forget to bring swimming gear and sun protection! Snacks, drinks and ice cream (a large beer was 2,50 €) are very reasonably priced and served during the whole trip.
On the way back to Mellieha, the boat stops at Crystal Lagoon for an hour, the snorkelling there is amazing as well as the possibility to make a jump from the cliffs into the water. This was the stop that the whole family enjoyed most, compared to almost overcrowded Blue Lagoon.
My wife forgot her swimming goggles on the boat, but they were swiftly returned the next day, when we went back to the boat and asked for them.
