If you’re looking for a reliable, high quality tour company I cannot recommend this firm highly enough. I spent hours researching ahead of my trip, & by combination of itineraries offered & glowing TripAdvisor reviews, decided upon Tamaran. Top choice! My first trip was a private tour of the North. This itinerary includes Teide, Garachico, Icod de Los Vinos, &, best of all, the stunning town of Oratova. It’s also available as a group tour, but as these didn’t fit my dates I bit the bullet & kicked off with a private trip. I was so lucky to be allocated the amazing Frankie as my driver/guide. He’s local, so knows the island inside out, but having lived in England for extended periods, is also fully fledged in the English language, & British culture, meaning he gets all the in-jokes & nuances of British life. Previous reviewers on this platform have referred to him (& he’s become a little bit legendary for), his phrase ‘Amazing innit!’ Such is his genuine love for the island. He was the perfect companion for a private tour, plus, as a solo female, I felt really comfortable & safe in his care. Frankie also speaks fluent Italian (in addition of course, to his native tongue). You’re in for a fab time if he leads your tour. If he doesn’t, I’d still highly recommend Tamaran. They respond immediately & personally to emails & are extremely obliging of personal requests. It’s a well run, long established set up, specialising in small group trips. A further bonus is that their tours expressly do not do touristy, commercial, back hander stops at local hawkers. I went on to do two additional (group) tours; an all day excursion to stunning La Gomera, & a trip to the North East, taking in La Laguna, Anaga, Taganana, Las Teresitas & Candelaria. All trips had less then 8 people & included lunch with wine, & hotel drop off. Covid precautions were strictly adhered to. I had an amazing time on each of the trips - & feel so glad that I chose Tamaran to introduce me to the island.

Me and my boyfriend booked the Jeep Safari to Teide and Masca last minute (a day before). We were lucky enough to book the last 2 spots. We can't say enough enough good things about this experience. We were picked up from our hotel at 8:45 in the morning by Marco and taken to the meeting point in a parking lot where we waited for a few minutes for the guides to distribute us in the cars according to our language. We went in the jeep with Colin (the BEST driver + guide). He explained us what we are going to do, the rules (we had to wear masks in the car and disinfected our hands every time we took a break, got a few minutes to take photos and came back to the car). We didn't feel rushed, the breaks gave us time to take photos and enjoy the landscape. Colin's jokes made it even better and he asked us questions (example: if we know how many islands are part of the Canary Islands and so on), then he proceeded to tell us more about each place we visited. As soon as we started going up the mountain, the views are AMAZING. We started from Playa de las Américas and visited: La Camella | Mirador de la Escalona | Arona | Vilaflor | Parque Nacional del Teide | Roques de García | Pico Viejo | Mirador de Aripe-Chirche | Chío | Tamaimo | Santiago del Teide | Mirador de Masca | Masca | Arguayo | Guía de Isora. Because there are less tourists nowadays, there weren't so many people visiting these places, the roads were almost empty and we could take some great shots. To see the top of the volcano Teide and the little village of Masca is an unforgettable experience. One advice though, the road to Masca is not for those who are afraid of heights. We had a lunch break and we went to a little restaurant with great views where we ate a tomato soup, chicken with vegetables and melon for desert for 9 euros. The food was tasty and there was so much food that we couldn't eat everything. It was an unforgettable experience and we strongly believe that because of Colin, it was even better. We highly, highly recommend this Jeep Safari!

Had the pleasure of being driven around the Island by Bruno, one of the tour guides and would recommend this to anyone visiting Tenerife. At times it was quite exciting to get off the beaten path and a bit of a thrill as we accelerated around the narrow, curvy roads of La Gomera. We were picked up a short distance from our hotel at 07.00. From there we drove to another hotel to pick up some more guests. From there we travelled to a randevou point close to the Harbour where we met the other tourists, drivers and guides. From here we were divided into groups of English speakers, french speakers, Spanish speakers, etc. We climbed onto our 4x4 convertible Land Rover and made our way to the harbour. The guides collected out tickets and we boarded the ferry to La Gomera. This took about 45 minutes and the sea was a little choppy en route. After we disembarked we met back up with the convoy of jeeps and started our tour around the Island. We meandered our way up the mountains stopping at interesting and scenic spots where we were given information, the opportunity to explore and take pictures. As we made our way through the clouds to the top of the island the weather was quite cold and damp, therefore taking a coat is a must! We explored around the ancient Forrest before decending back down the many valleys and going to more spots. We had a meal which was quite nice and included in the price of the excursion. Following this we went around more interesting spots before ending our exploration at San Sebastian, where we had 50 minutes to explore before getting our ferry back to Tenerife. On arrival in Tenerife our your guides drove us back to the front of our hotel. The whole experience was excellent and the staff were professional, funny and knowledgeable. Their English skills were excellent. We would recommend this excursion to people visiting Tenerife. There is the VIP and 4x4 option available. We would suggest the 4x4 experience for the more adventurous tourists.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day out to Teide and Masca and the kids loved travelling in a jeep with the roof down, something they don’t do everyday. Our guide, Colin, was superb and really made our trip, his knowledge of the island was second to none and his stories and anecdotes were very entertaining and informative, the was no question unanswered. My only criticism was, we would of like more time in Masca, as it was advertised as a Teide and Masca tour, we were a little disappointed that we only got a half an hour to look around. As a beautiful, typically Canarian village, we would of liked a bit more time to explore, it felt a bit rushed. We would of happily missed one of the other stops to make up the time. Having said that, it didn’t spoil the day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
