Delightful fresh food served with attention to detail . Good portion size and very reasonable . The salmon and steak pie were both excellent served with a large dish of well cooked veg

We own an apartment in Chayofa. We purposely chose the area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas BUT close enough to get everywhere. Buses are regular. 5 minutes into Los Cristianos and taxis easy to get (about 6 euros to Los Cristianos). There are 3 bars near us The Treehouse, La Meson and La Finca so plenty of choice for eating places. A mix of nationalities. Mainly residents but enough holidayers too. We have owned our place here for nearly 10 years now so that should say it all.

Chayofa is an area of Tenerife, just up from Los Cristianos. It has a village type feel to it, with 2 hotels, 1 shop and 4 eating places.
It is home to mixed nationalities , not just the Spanish and feels safe.
It is a little way out for the average holiday maker, and because it is a little higher up and not on the coast, it can feel cooler and more cloudy, suits the residents perfectly.
I personally love Chayofa, but might feel a little limited for a holiday destination unless you like getting away fro it all.

This is a lovely village with several good restaurants. You can either take a bus 420 or 418 to here approx 10 mins from Los Christionos 1.45 euros. There are no shops only a supermarket & limited walking area

Far enough off the beaten path but perfect for our quiet holiday.travel car gave us some much needed freedom to go for days elsewhere which was all easy to get to.the villa here was gorgeous.loved la finca restraunt and the small taverna in chayofa.easy to walk around and lovely views.nice and peaceful and the locals were all very friendly.small shop very handy and stocked most things needed.would definitely return again.fantastic place and really the best find for our first holiday together.many happy memories made here.

In my opinion you do need to have a car if you are staying within this area, although there is a bus service and of course taxis! Only an approximate 7 minute drive away finds you in Los Cristanos and connecting to other routes along the coast. The views are quite amazing and to watch the sunset from the top part of Chayofa is perhaps even more romantic than down on the coast line. From Chayofa there is an amzing route up to Mount Teide again viewing points along the way. (Beware though on a Sunday our Motorcycle friends come out in force and extra caution is needed in my opinion along this mountain route!) In Chayofa itself (which is mostly residential), there are two "Country Clubs" one at the lower end of Chayofa and one at the top - both offering a choice of facilities including swimming pools, tennis courts and restaurants etc.,. There are two other restaurants La Finca (Spainish but catering for all appetites and The Treehouse (affectionately known as the local) run and owned by ex pats!. There is also a traditional Spanish Tapas Bar. The area is rather hilly with some steep climbs for those who are really fit and enjoy walking! The "Jungle Park" is at the top end of this area and if you receive a special offer on arrival at the Airport, use it - rather than pay full wack! Ample parking, nice walks and of course the usual animal's to view if you are into the kind of thing!.

This is a nice quiet village about 10 minutes drive up the mountain from las Americas with great views of the port and the coast , If you want peace and quiet from the madness of las Americas then this is a lovely village to stay , however i would stay away from chayofa country club as its a little dated and VERY NOISY ,

We have friends who live here for 6 months of the year,
We stay frequently in Los Cristianos so are either picked up , use a taxi( about €10) or the bus €1.20.
This Is a pleasant little village with some good restaurants. There are a number of up market properties which create a quality “ feel”. From our visits there is an expat atmosphere whether German or British.
This is quite a hilly residential area but not particularly conducive to walking.
The views in both directions are stunning.

We ended up here by accident, to a restaurant recommended to us by a timeshare sales person (we would normally ignore) but it was very good and the location very different from Tenerife beach fronts - well worth a visit
