Caters to the very rich. It’s very nice. Lovely place to walk see sunset. Close to restos and shops. Wish they had shops for regular folk.

A very nice walk before or after having Lunch or Dinner in one of the so many restaurants there.
The walk starts (or end) in Masalpomas Lighthouse and you can go far with it on the other side.
Many shops, many restaurants, just avoid during the hottest time and it will be perfect !

The feeling of safety was important to us. It is a place that I would recommend for single travellers. It was so clean and the view of the sunset was amazing.

First visit in a couple of years. Very good work has been done upgrading the surface which was very sad and tired. Main area for improvement now around the faro where the surface bricks are heavily eroded. Pleasant walks by the sea, past shops, hotels and restaurants. Melonarias beach, which used to have a number of small restaurants, now has a night club. Not sure an improvement.

This long beautiful promenade is the place specially in the evening when you are in Gran Canaria. The beach is very clean. On one side there are a number of restaurants and bars which get crowded in the evening. A long walk during sunset is highly recommended.

Walk from hotel to the lighthouse area. Easy walk with great views out to sea. Lots of shops and restaurants mixed with hotels and a few bars. Quiet by good atmosphere

This promenade walk is an easy stroll from the lighthouse to Meloneras, where you will find several bars and restaurants. We took it easy in the sun, and had several drinks before walking back to the lighthouse

The promenade at Meloneras has a great selection of shops and restaurants to suit all budgets. Its a lovely walk, especially in the early evening just before sunset. It's advisable to book one of the beachfront restaurants as they do get very busy. But its easy to grab an early evening cocktail in one of the many lovely bars. Maximilians Cafe/pizza restaurant was superb. Can't wait to go back.

So refreshing to find somewhere along this coastline that has had some money pumped into it in order to upgrade the area.
Sad to say just a walk along the beach to Playa del Ingles/ Maspalomas things are very different.
This is a lovely area full of nice shops, good restaurants with terraces and upmarket hotels, we spent most of our 10 days holiday here although our hotel was in Playa Del Ingles . We enjoyed the hour walk along the beach and passing the Maspalomas dunes to get to Las Meloneras ( bit wild on the way back when the tide is in but still a great walk )

Rui Gran Canaria at MasPolomas would be fine - equally as any others in the Northern MasPolomas strip. Go for it.

We are staying at the Rui in Melonares. Are any of the beaches here proper sand or are they all the black sand?

Probably too late now, but lot of ‘normal’ beach around though I think some may have been imported, if not this area, then others? Maspalomas has the huge area of dunes leading to the long beach around Playa del Ingles...

Yes it is a nice walk along a motorway of a path. Meloneras was the quieter end and the complex that housed the restaurant promenade was partly closed but most of the restaurants were fine and the beach more peaceful more laid back
Both sides of the path caters for all tastes
Have a nice holiday
Is it Okey to come around with wheelchair??

Yes a wheelchair would be OK, there are some gradients along the way where a bit of help would be useful but it's mostly flat.
