About
Great movies, under the stars. Europe's only permanent outdoor cinema. Enjoy the magic of the big screen, under the magic of the stars, and where better than in the warmth of Gran Canaria. 2 films show each night, starting at sunset. With luxury sofas, blankets and waitress service serving freshly prepared pizza, popcorn and nachos you´re guaranteed a fantastic night.

Arrived on Monday night @1830 missed the underground car park so went round roundabout and parked in municipal car park.Joined the que and presented our pre booked tickets please note walk up tickets cost €20 adults/€15 child.

We were allocated for the 3 of us seats C1O/D10 and we had blankets. Film Dolittle started @1910 and it is in English with Spanish sub titles with full sound no headphones. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 cocktails and a non alcoholic cocktail a chocolate brownie and a yoghurt dessert for €44. You order drinks and food by way of a call button, the staff are very attentive and helpful. There are toilets there and we left around 2045.

We have visited the Starlight Cinema in Puerto Del Carmen on Lanzarote and both compare equally and favourably.

Would we visit again yes please

Movie under the stars is exactly what it is! We went to see Yesterday here in July. Reserved tickets online(would recommend doing this as you get a better seat) we turned up and it was so smooth and quick when we arrived. €15 a ticket was good. Found our seat and it was such a good view. Comfy sofa and lovely blanket to keep you warm as it gets a bit chilly when the sun goes down. We had a look at the menu and decided to order a pizza, nachos and two drinks. All came in such quick time as well. Food was lovely and the nachos were particularly tasty. We decided to order a dessert, which came quick as well. They bring your change in a little cup and place it on the arm of your sofa. The sound and picture quality was perfect as well. Amazing from start to finish! Lovely little night out. Will definitely return. Would 100% recommend it!

We found out about the Moonlight Cinema in our Jet 2 holiday information book. It sounded like something different so we decided to give it a try. From the Gran Princess in Playa Del Ingles it cost 5 euros in a taxi and was a lovely cinema experience in an unusual setting. The film Bad Boys, which we saw, was very good too. I cannot comment on the food/drink as we did not participate, but various people had food and drink during the evening. They do provide blankets but we did go prepared if it went chilly. Highly recommend a visit to this venue.

I previously rated this place 5 stars having visited numerous times over recent years. In the last 6 months I’ve visited twice and would give the experience no more than 3 stars. Maintenance wise, there is a horizontal line across the bottom half of the screen which needs addressing and the sofas sink in the middle making it impossible to sit comfortably. Blankets are usually provided as it gets cold during the late showing, however on our recent visit they were not and we were told as an audience not to ask - no explanation given. Advance booking is recommended, which we always do, however on ticket collection the guy on the desk seems not to like you asking where your seats will be and if they can be moved, even though at this point there is usually 50-70% of seats still free. Ultimately we ended up sitting off centre and too close to the screen even though I’d asked for middle and further back. Disappointing for the price and for what was previously a 5 star experience that I have recommended to anyone holidaying in Gran Canaria.

Went to see jumanji the next level here. Ordered a pizza that cost me 9 euros and was basically a heated frozen pizza, they advertised a homemade pizza. The popcorn was obviously microwaved and still cost 5 euros. The seats however were really comfortable and the blankets a nice touch.

Thanks for taking the time to review the Moonlight Cinema. Sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your pizza and popcorn - as advertised, our pizzas and popcorn are both freshly made to order, in fact we regularly receive great feedback on our pizzas, as they are of such a high standard. They are most certainly not ´frozen´. We´re glad that you found our sofas comfortable, however and hope to see you again soon. Thanks again for your feedback.

Fantastic cinema! Lovely comfortable sofas, blankets to keep you warm, all sorts of snacks available pizza popcorn drinks etc. Lovely welcome ! I note someone complaining about film timing I an on,y say your on holiday and life in Gran Canaria might not be as slick as the UK but this little cinema is completely charming! 100% happy with the experience and if we are lucky enough to come back to the island we will definitely go again.
Thank you to everyone that runs the place your doing a grand job! My only complaint here is we are in Gran Canaria in January but I have had to tick February as month visited.

Well there is the sun and the sea, but we enjoyed seeing 'Judy' at the Moonlight Cinema this evening. We sat on a sofa waiting for dusk drinking a bottle of cava (complementary with the dinner menu). The show started when it was dark enough to see the screen. A memorable experience watching the film wrapped in a cosy blanket as the evening advanced.

Visited last night with 3 friends. Reserved online for late showing. Arrived early to collect tickets and decided to stay and get food there before our film started. Pizzas and nachos were lovely, and there was a great meal deal on offer so we got free bottle of wine. Staff were great, food excellent, cocktails delicious, seating was comfy with lovely thick blankets provided. And the film (The Gentleman) was brilliant too. Would definitely recommend this.

We love this place .. where has it gone? We went September 2021 and it looks to have been replaced by a Thai restaurant.

This Outdoor cinema has always been a great addition to facilities in Meloneras a great variety of films, up-to-date and old classics .. and I suspect would be even more in demand in COVID times as many prefer the option of outdoor entertainment.

My wife and I visited here a in February and it's exactly as advertised. A really nice and relaxing way to spend an evening in the beautiful Melanoras. The couches are comfortable, the blankets are warm, the audio and video quality is very good and the service is brilliant. You don't have to get out of your seat at all. Some people complained about the blankets being a little wet but just mention it to the staff and they will sort it out.
Definitely worth a visit if you fancy watching a good movie under the stars with some food and drink.
