Really lovely old castle with loads of windy streets and alleys, little squares, queit shady areas everywhere. It is definitely worth getting the little green train to take you all the way to the light house at the very top, and then walk down slowly taking your time and soaking it all in. Not suitable for folks that aren't fully mobile unfortunately.

We parked up in a deserted
Carpark there was two other vehicles in the entire thing we paid for
Our parking and put up a ticket and off we went not one shop was open in the entire town this was 12.00 on a Friday a few restaurants were preparing food but there was nothing else open we maybe say 4 people in total we went back to our van after lunch and had a €60 parking ticket I find it ironic that in a town not even open they targeted us when we were clearly tourists in a camper spending money in there little town we were the only customers the resturant had someone needs to get a life and stop targeting tourists the other two local cans in the carpark had no tickets displayed and did not get ticketed at all we were a tiny bit late and we got stung totally uncool and ruined our day.

Gets a little crowded during the day but still well worth the effort. Beautiful medieval town with narrow streets and abundant vegetation within the castle. Beautiful view of the town, sea and beaches around the castle.
Enter from the beach, get on the hill, take your time inside than exist through the town, visit it and stop for a cold drink in one of the many pubs. This will be a nice way to spend half of the day.

Just for a few euros' a return ticket can be purchased to take you to the top of the headland where the castle is. However for the younger, fitter tourists, they tend to ride up, but walk down. Using just the single ticket.( 3.50 euro.)

There is no doubt that Tossa de la Mar on the Costa Brava, Catalunia is beautiful; the picturesque coastline and the medevil walled town are stunning, not to mention the Roman architecture. But BEWARE pickpockets are in action in this town, taking full advantage of the fact that you are often looking up at the stunning buildings and castle.
Be very careful and vigilant or you belongings will be gone in a flash!

As pensioners we were not able to walk to this wonderful sight. We took the little train from outside the hotel Capri for 5 euros. A lovely little climb to the top and then the light house. Fantastic views from the top and some lovely little bars where you could have something to eat and then walk down if you feel fit enough or wait until the next train comes along every 45 minutes. Keep your tickets for the return trip. Very well worth the visit.

No tendrá ningun problema para visitar los esteriores, pues se accede por una rampa empedrada y lisa, ahora si quiere visitar interiores y las murallas no podrá hacerlo pues son escaleras y pasos angostos

A friend and I came to Tossa De Mar 20 years ago. We remember a flamenco bar with stools at the bar. Is it still there? I am coming with my partner next week. Tina

No es una subida difícil, y lo realmente importante es subir andando sin prisa, pero siempre atendiendo a la situación personal.
