The beach is disappointing. It shelves very steeply into the water so getting in and out is for confident swimmers only.

The beach has to have one of the best aspects in Europe. The Castle and the Villa Vella as a back drop are simply beautiful. The beach is perfectly placed with plenty of amenities. The only negative is the gritty sand, which as you would...More

This beach is stunning. Although it consists of shingle, it is very fine and looks like sand of a golden colour. Lining it is a very pleasant promenade with small and picturesque hotels and restaurants.

This beach iw very wide and it is reasonably clean. While there you can appreciate the view of the Old Town. As it is usual here, you can find on the beach some free showers.

I agree with the above thoughts. However, there are boat trips that run from the beach. You can buy your tickets from the booths which are on the beach too. And there is diving too.
