Not my favourite beach. Its quite sloped and deep on entry. The waves at times were rough and calming swim was not possible. Some Beautiful views of castle and lots of shops close by.
But It was extremely busy at times. Space definitely at a premium. The boat trips and harbouring boats completely ruin the vibe. I love a beach and had high hopes for this one. The touring boats from Barcelona and other locations was too much. The boats would roar in felt like every hour. Easily over 100 people on each boat. It took the beauty from the beach. So I'd suggest going early enough to nab a good spot further up beach away from docking boating areas. Which is down near castle end. There are also lots of sun lounger rentals on beach. These also take up huge amount of space. But they are an option if you like an elevation off the sand.

Tossa de Mar is absolutely stunning
The beaches are beautiful, lots of restaurants, shops, a little train to show u around, boat trips, scuba diving, lots of historic things to see.
The Villa Vella is amazing overlooking the big beach, it's got the most stunning views if u can get to walk up to the top or catch the train up and walk back down.
Quiet resort for families and couples.

Tossa is a favorite holiday destination for many tourists with the main attractions being it's position ,the lack of development that has spoiled other destinations, and the beach.
There are four beaches in Tossa all with the “Blue Beach” standard
The largest, the Platja Gran, runs from the walls of the Vila Vella (Castle) to the road leading to Mar Menuda.
It is a wide beach at its centre and there are toilet facilities at either end. There are two beach bars and two sun lounger/brolly franchises. Expect to pay circa €5 each for the day, there are no half day prices.
At the widest part there is an area, away from the sunbathers, for vollyball.
There is always something to watch in season as the tourist boats come up onto the beach near the walls of the Vila Vella. There are kiosks here for trips to Lloret and San Feliu and also the Glass bottomed Boat. There is always lots of activity at the weekends at the other end of the beach as you can watch the private speed boats being launched from in front of Nautic Tossa. You can also book tickets for the Splash Boat here.
The sand varies but is quite gritty and is not to everyone’s liking but at least it does not blow about.
It can be hot to the soles of the feet in high season but there are wood walkways in a couple of places. If the waves have been up the beach can slope quite steeply into the sea, and although there are lifeguards on duty, it is best to keep an eye on young kids.
The sand is raked by tractor daily and you will not be disturbed by dogs or loud music, both are banned.

This beach is freaking beautiful!! Calm clear aqua-blue water with small waves on a beach of trillions of small pebbles (not painful) and a freaking castle on the end to stare at. The water was cold but only at first, plenty of places to eat and/or buy drinks to enjoy on the beach and the walk to the top of the castle is a must! After visiting Tossa and Lloret, I would definitely recommend Tossa. Forewarning, this is a European beach so there are a few women topless sunbathing so just an fyi. Do not miss out on this view/experience if you travel to the area!!

Tossa is so beautiful, accessible and fun. The beach is lined with quaint bar restaurants where you can relax, eat, drink and enjoy the beautiful view. There are plenty of local stores to buy blow-up toys and the water is calm. Right on the beach, you can rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, etc. Everything is easy and convenient. The water is clear and snorkeling is fun to see some decent fish. The sand is a little rough, so it's better to have water shoes.

The high price of sunbeds put us off spending time on the beach,it was 6 euros for each bed and 6euros for an umbrella making a total of 18 euros a day to go on the beach,we wont be visiting Tossa again, the most we pay in Greece is 8 euros for 2 beds and 1 umbrella. The good point is that the beach is cleaned every day.

The beach is gorgeous when you look down on it from above (see my pictures) but that's where it stops. The 'sand' is actually a variety of small and large stones and it gets painful to walk on after a few strides. It's no better with shoes or sandals as they are small enough to get under your feet and large enough to hurt.

Our tip is to get the glass-bottomed boat up the coast to Giverola. It's only a few Euros and the beach is spectacular with lovely soft sand!

Beach was busy but still water was clean. Beach had nice sad and over all it was clean. Water was perfect Krystal clear and very clean. You can swim far and still see the bottom of the sea. The water traffic can be annoying.. but I recommend to take sight-seeing tour with the boat, especially the one where you can see the sea life while traveling.

Kids loved it.. All that fish and marine life.

Beach gets deep quickly. So kids needs to know bit how to swim.

We stopped for some beach time here on our drive up from Barcelona to Cadaques. It's a gorgeous beach with beautifully clear and calm turquoise waters. Beachgoers were mostly families and though it was fairly crowded, the atmosphere was jovial and relaxed. Scenery is lovely, with the castle in the (near) distance. We parked at a nearby underground parking lot (secure and well monitored) and prices were surprisingly reasonable. We'd consider returning for a longer stay. Yet another great spot in Spain!

This is a busy and charming seaside town After checking in our hotel we Immediately went to have our lunch at a beachside restaurant. Then we set up on this beach for the rest of the day. Good thing we brought a parisol (beach umbrella). On a sunny day it's necessary. You can rent chairs, towels, and umbrellas for the day on the beach. Water shoes are also a good idea.
