About
The houses at Langedrag are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. They look like fairytale castles, 1000 metres above sea level with a breathtaking view over mountains and lakes. Eva and Edvin K. Thorson started building the farm in 1978. They wanted to realise their dream of a farm where visitors could experience nature and animals at a closer range than anywhere else. ‘In awe of life’ is the motto at Langedrag. In the Nature Park you can find animals like reindeer, mouflon sheep, mountain fox, horses, goats, wild boars and lynxes. Few other places in the world would let you enter the wolf enclosure, like you can at Langedrag. Every Thursday and Friday in summer you can accompany us on a trip to our summer farm in the mountains. At the farm we make crisp bread on traditional hot plates and tell the stories of the area and its people.

- Go082834441164 contributionsNice experience if weather is niceVisited the farm during heavy rainfall. It looked nice. In case the weather was nice kids could really have enjoyed themselves because there is enough opportunity to play. It's quiet expensive for Belgian norms but the close encounters with animals are lovely. It's not a very big park but it's nice and the animals have nice surroundings. We did the extra wolfpuppy petting activity (at extra cost). Two wolfpups and two huskypets could be petted but in a respectful way outside. We loved it. Never had an opportunity like this before. Staff is helpful and friendly and you can ask questions in English. In case of bad weather a normal raincoat is not sufficient. All Norwegians wore heavy rain materials (trousers and jackets) (they were better prepared than we). Rain in Norway is just not the same. Cafetaria is nice and cosy.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 14, 2024

- Danielle R9 contributionsWonderful Animal Park!Wonderful interactive animal park for all ages, the best part being the animal feedings (this includes feeding reindeers, moose and foxes in the ticket) or any additional experiences you may decide to pay for. Like many people mentioned it is pricey, but caring for all these unique animals I'm sure doesn't come cheap. We paid for the additional socialized wolf interaction and it was amazing, I highly recommend it. For anyone who is an English speaking traveler or a non-Norwegian speaker, all signs and feeding presentations are in Norwegian. So be sure to have downloaded google translate ahead of time. Definitely an amazing once in a lifetime experience and would recommended if you have the time and funds to experience this great park.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 12, 2024

Ticked ordering system had to be done using the web, and did not work. We were allowed to buy tickets inside from a not too-friendly or helpful young man, but no information about that possibility outside. We almost turned around due to the problems. He did not offer information map. The seas for the wildlife are not marked very well. There are signs to where to go, but you don’t know if this fence belongs to these or those animals. Better signs and information are recommended! One very positive surprise was fenced in pen areas where you could leave your dog, one for each dogs - I left both mine in one pen. Big, shady, and with water, and possible to lock if you brought your own lock. The place is great for kids, and ok if you are willing to pay an extensive amount to go in to wolves, foxes, polar foxes, and lynx with the keepers. We did not, and were not able to see any of these animals. On the other hand, that means that their habitats were big enough for them to hide, and that is good animal welfare. There are plenty other animals to see, though, like wild boar, moos, reindeer, as well as domestic animals like goats, sheep, roosters, peacock, rabbits, cute Scottish highland cattle, and an abundance of the Norwegian fjording horse.

Walked through park in 2 hours. Includes a separate excursion with wolves (forty-five minutes). It is absolutely a glorified petting zoo with large animals behind fences. When we were there, only goats and 1 elk were loose. We found enclosures worrying for some animals (boars). Too high an entrance fee for what we got to see. Wolf excursion was great! Please note: if you book that excursion you pay an entrance fee on top.

On our way to the Oslo Torp area for the last night of our holiday, we decided to stop at this park where many of Norway's wildlife (except for the musk ox) are found. We had a lot of fun, we didn't expect them to let reindeer, elk, Arctic foxes into the enclosures. For more 'elitist' experiences with wolves or lynx, you pay extra and with Reservation. Recommended. Caution: appropriate footwear because you get dirty in particular in the reindeer enclosure.

Extremely expensive.
Could advantageously make the place more pleasant with taking care of vegetation.
Tips: Bring food package, so you don't have to ruin yourself in the cafe.
Otherwise the park is all right, but one visit is enough.

Resting heart rate and unique encounters with animals.
A great experience from start to finish. Magical encounters with animals in beautiful surroundings. We traveled with our 10-year-old grandson and had booked Animal Care for a day - it was a fantastic day for him and nice for us to see how he enjoyed the tasks and close contact with the animals, a great arrangement that created many great memories. So many cheerful and pleasant people who work at Langedrag! You can tell that they are really passionate about what they do. We would love to come again!

The first thing that encounters us is a parking lot without a single HC parking lot. In addition, it is encouraged to park close, and this makes both the start and the end of the visit very demanding for a wheelchair user with a wheelchair car that has an elevator (or rather impossible to use the elevator). The rest of the area is relatively well universally designed.
The park itself is lovely. That so many animals are allowed to walk freely across such a large area is very nice to see. They are also very social and the kids loved it. The children have already asked several times about Vinland travel back. There is also nice playground in the area which became very popular. There are also nice and gentle staff.
The cleanliness of the room was not of the best. The first thing that met us in the bathroom was a big hair ball in the shower's extinguisher. There was also generally a lot of dust. Still, the room solutions were creative and the style fit well with the rest of the park.
I also find it disappointing to visit you in the holidays, too you hardly have ice cream.
Dinner and breakfast were perfectly ok. Good that you took into account allergies and that you served about the same as the normal food. The food in the food truck on the tunet was incredibly good.

What a day!! Our boys got to be «zookeepers for a day” and they had an amazing time! We loved every second of our visit. A perfect day for both parents and kids. The Highland cow calf’s were soooo cute. All the “fjords” amazing, wolf, moose and goats. What an amazing place!

Hi - is it possible to make a day trip from Oslo to visit Langedrag? The date would be February 19th - would the roads be open as it is winter?
Many thanks
