After arriving in Flam on a sleepy Sunday afternoon, we decided to take a last minute snow hiking trip. Have you ever imagined yourself as a tiny speck on the earth, well after doing the Fjord Safari RIB Tour in Flam, that was exactly how I felt. You are in a little inflatable boat amongst towering magestic glacial mountains. Really a stunning experience. We were suited up for the conditions, which meant that we ended up looking like something... More

Our guide was Thomas and he was amazing! He gave us extra clothes and gloves because it was so windy. We did the winter safari with 6 other people and had a fun ride seeing small villages and tasting local goat cheese. Thomas stopped along the way and told us about the landmarks as well. My husband and I were... More

This was probably one of the most beautiful boats trips we have ever done. The fjords are majestic, magical, magnificent. Our guide (Eleanor (I think but I'm not good with names)) was fun, responsible and knowledgeable. It was a beautifully sunny day and we thought we had dressed accordingly with many layers but Eleanor insisted we add many more and... More

Myself and my boyfriend went on a snow shoe hike with the brewery viking plank evening meal. We were looking forward to it and wasn't too sure what to expect. We were greeted by this young lad who took the two of us (we were shocked it was only us) in the minibus up into the mountains. We stopped off... More

When I say it was all I expected, I mean it is a slow ferry ride, it can be cold. But it is absolute must if visiting the area, I could post pictures, but they just wouldn't do the scenery any justice, truly some of the most staggering natural beauty we have seen.

The Fjord Safari RIB (stands for Rigid Inflatable Boat) is a smallish boat which operates out of Flam and provides an intimate tour of the Aurlandsfjord and further into the stunning Nærøyfjord. There are only about 20 people on the boat and since it's so small you can get really close to the shore and pause here and there to... More

A 'must do' while in Flam. This trip takes you deep into the fjords in a jet boat. Weather-proof clothing is supplied as the boat is all open and fairly flies along the water with bumps and thrills! The sheer scale of the fjords was so well viewed from the boat. Not recommended for small children or less mobile people.... More

I'm taking this tour for killing time, as my train schedule in late afternoon. But in return, not a bad ideal to join this tour in freezing winter weather. I joined the fjord safari with the intention to kill time until my ferry left. But actually it was an experience I would not want to miss. The guide told many, many stories about history and nature and the current situation. The landscape of course is absolutely amazing. On top of that we saw seals and eagles. Perfect!
