The Flam railroad is included in the “Norwegian in a Nutshell” which is a bit trite for one of the most beautiful train rides in the world but you can do this trip without doing the boat trip. Do the train from Oslo to Bergen...More

If you have a car while visiting this part of Norway don't bother with the Flam railway trip. It's expensive, lots of people and the views are not as good as you see driving in the car. At least in the car you can stop...More

Visited Flaam by ship, up early and booked the railway trip at the station. To be honest we were underwhelmed by the journey. Some nice views but for £50 (approx) each for 1 hour train journey through a lot of tunnels, pricey.

The short 20km train ride down the hill was lovely, and the train stops part way down for a special photo opp. I won’t spoil it for you. But it’s worth the journey!

I booked tickets independently online and saved them to my phone , very easy and although expensive, half the cost of the Cunard trip. The scenery is beautiful and I recommend the trip. I travelled with elderly mum she’s always ready for tea , so...More
