This a larger than normal memorial to a military person. It is nice but could easily be be missed but not major miss.

If you aren't looking for this specifically, you might miss it. The memorial is located right next to Michaelis Church in the square in old town. It is a memorial to a famous general who was successful in a Danish war in the 1800s.

We passed the memorial to General Frederik von Bülow on an organised walking tour of Fredericia whilst on a one day visit to the town. Our guide explained how the general had organised the defence of the town when besieged by troops of the Schleswig-Holstein state and achieved a great Danish victory. A bit later in the tour we were to visit the towns defences (the ‘Vold’) which are pretty substantial, it must have been quite a battle. The memorial takes the form of a larger than life head and shoulders bust located inside a modest triumphal arch. The statue is located next to the old town hall and the General stares impassively across the car park. To be fair, unless you are a ‘local’ or have an interest in this period of Danish history, then a passing visit will suffice.…
