About
Visit Ree Park Safari and have an unforgettable time in the exciting world of animals. Djursland's big safari park offers wild experiences and activities among animals from 4 continents. Take a train ride across the Northamerican prarie or go on a Land Rover Safari, driving around among the many African animals on the savannah. Don’t miss out on the many fun animal activities. The only cheetahs in Denmark chase their lunch with 70 km/h, the energetic lemurs jump around for fruit and vegetables, and the otters gather around their food. The guide tells you about the animals, and you are always welcome to ask questions. Also, visit the wonderful monkeys on their own islands. You meet curious lemurs, cheeky squirrel monkeys, and many other monkey species.

Not worth the money tbh. Nothing much to see, animals are mostly hidden/away. Don’t take the Land Rover Safari, the trip is only
15 mins and most of the things you see, you can see it just by walking around.

Excellent place for a half day experience - especilly with kids. And the best thing is that Ree Park have really good conditions for the animals. Not like you see it in many zoo's.
Perfect place. try not to be there in high season (Danish vacation-time)

Very good experience

I was there with my husband and daughter, sister in law, her husband and two sons, (kids:6-3,5-2,5) and mixed languages of Danish , English and German.
We spend the night in a luxury tent at the Camel Camp.
Included in our stay was;
A guide, Sigurd, who took us on both walking- and Jeep-Safari. He was really good at explaining what we saw and general information about the animals and the park and we were able to translate to the German-speaking of the group.
Only downside to the Jeep-Safari was that the rhinos and giraffe already were in the stables by the time we had our Safari.
We got to feed the wolfs and wild dogs at night and the otters in the morning.
We went to the rhino staples in the evening but they were sadly preoccupied with food so we didn’t see them much.
We walked a lot around the park ourselves and we were lucky to see all the animals in the park.
We also payed extra to go on the America Express which was a really nice experience as well.
I’m definitely going back and would really consider to spend the night again.
I would recommend it to everyone that loves animals and kids😊

A skeleton of a safari park
Jul 2020
I went here last weekend with the family. It was during COVID-19, which meant feeding of animals was cancelled - which is understandable.

But, wow. Ree park felt mostly like a budget animal zoo in a poor, Eastern European country. It was so empty.

Lions could be seen 30 meters away. Cheetah was nowhere to be seen. The leopard was walking in circles in a small area (far away, again) and looked both depressed and extremely under-stimulated.

You can take a train trip within the park to see Northern American animals. But even here it was empty. Only thing we saw was two seagulls. The safari was okay (rhinos and giraffes, yes!) - but even this felt quite underwhelming and was over quickly.

So many empty areas, it felt like they had just removed 70% of the park. And the animals we did see, were too far away. It got comical, towards the end.

It is possible - and many achieve this - to design an animal park where both the animals have a lot of space and enjoy their lives, and where paying customers get to actually see the animals - preferably up close - and get bang for their buck.

Overall dissappointing and not worth a re-visit. Instead, go to e.g Randers Rainforest, it has a lot more charm - which this place had none of.

Great park with good care for animals

Great park with good walks. Animals are treated very well! Which is why they can go into hiding and visitors sometimes miss out on seeing all of them. Cheers to that - animal welfare should be a top priority in a park like this. And at Ree Park it feels like it is. Well done.

I would like to acknowledge: great wooden 'air' walking paths immersed in nature, opportunity to get very close to many animals (monkeys, lemurs, alpaka, donkeys, pigs and more) and nice style and atmosphere of the place. I was however unimpressed with American express (20 min trip by little train). My kids though it was fun (but none of them was paying 50 dkk per person for this trip). It is possible to rent a stroller (traekvogn), but what is lovely for lovers (going up and down through the wooden bridges) is not necessarly fun for parents of small kids. That's why I would say that if you have a baby to carry (in a carrier) or slightly older kids that are used to walk for few 3-4 hours without asking to be carried then it is a place for you. For two small kids 2,5 & 4,5 yo it was ok for one visit (we got it for free with Givskud yearly cards). However the amount of playgrounds (1!) is a bit disappointing.

Great park!

Really good park. A few things were negative:
Sad that I didn’t get to see the bears.
I also made one of the lions upset, and it growled at me and almost tried to jump towards me.
The bees at the restaurant made us switch tables 6 times. Burger was good in the beginning but the sauce was weird. It was almost like they put jam instead of ketchup on it.

It looks sad

Everything is looking old and not in a very good shape. Way too expensive, and a lot of the animals are not even there.
