- Lia THeesch, The Netherlands2 contributionsExperience and experience nature! We were there years ago, too. Then, in my memory, it was just the beach you were walking on. But now it has become a whole new experience. A beautiful visitor center, with interactive experience and knowledge transfer. The walk is also very fun and educational. Enthusiastic volunteers explain in a kind of huts what you encounter during the walk. Not just an explanation, but you get to experience things for yourself. Very good!!!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 12, 2024
- Tatiana FChalon-sur-Saone, France6,138 contributionsVirtual wildlifeWe recommend you to visit this park , practically wildlife, paradise of numerous birds and plants. The park is also designed for outdoor activities: miles of bike lanes, trails for hiking, horseback riding, Things to do for children and a restaurant. There's paid parking.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 13, 2024
- Jules Dieryck1 contributionLearn more about the fauna and flora of the ZwinIt was a very nice experience to walk through the Zwin. Together with the guide we saw and learned a lot of the Zwin and so we could also visit parts of the nature park where you are not normally allowed to go. Our guide was very passionate and had a lot to say. Then we visited the exhibition, which was also very educational. For example, with a pass you were assigned a bird that you then learned all about and information was also given about other birds. There were also various activities to get to know that bird better, such as a kind of cockpit. This allows you to experience in an original way the dangers your bird could encounter in its path by flying it or you learned to fly with your arms as your bird. The only downside for me was that sometimes my card didn't work or some of the devices in the exhibition didn't function properly.Visited October 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 3, 2024

The park allows for a relatively short loop trail, with many bird-watching stations and explanations at many points. There is also an informative exhibition inside the information center. But the entrance fee of €14 per person plus €5 for parking is definitely too high.

Great nature park. Fun to come here with children. The bird feeding area is fun to watch, a variety of birds can be seen there. The tower to watch the stork is also fun.
The museum is beautifully designed and also very accessible for children

Easy to find, value for money at this splendidly naturally mapped out wildlife environment.
Fine introduction museum, and very good cafe(outdoor seating available), but lots of walking/exploring, birdlife, insects, flora and fauna and good viewpoints.
Lots of information and practically a whole day can be spent here.

This place was much more than we expected. A lot of wildlife! The infrastructure - restaurant, facilities, welcome desk, and staff are the best.
There are so many walking paths to be explored at ease. Many exhibition areas include learning made fun type of games.
There are permanent exhibition areas as well as temporary presentations.
We will surely return and why not get a yearly subscription.

nice and informative museum and a short walk with interesting views over the Zwin nature parc. Different informations were given by instructors at different points of the walk.
We walked there form Cadzand-Bad, the walk there offered beautiful views and in the sanctuary we got further informations.
Suitable for adults as well as for families with kids of all ages.

It was a nice short walk around the park with some educational explanations of the guides. But in general overpriced for what you get. Just by walking in open nature parks in other areas of the North Sea you get the same or even better experiences.

I went to Het Zwin last weekend (16 August 2013) but it is still closed and under renovation. It used to be a nice place but indeed needed some renovation.
Unfortunately it is still closed.
However, the neighbourhood is lovely for biking so that's what we did with the whole family.

Many birds and cheap (2 euros). Right now (march 2013) there are some renovation. So the entrance is free.

Staff is very friendly
You get enough and usefull information on your tour,
Especially the cabin where you could go up and be next to the stork nest was great.
Should count 2 or 3 hours for your visit.
A great nature experience.

Hello I live in Brussels (recently moved to Belgium). I am a bird enthusiast.
1. Can you recommend which month/s is best to visit Zwin park to have maximum birds sighting.
2. I understand that the bird ringing happens between Aug and Nov. Is it a good event to get to see some birds closely?
3. Does the park provide bikes on rent ? Thanks in advance for your time and reply.

Hello Mamata
I know that each season offers a different advantage in terms of various migration/reproduction habits. I only visited once in March this year and saw loads of interesting birds. The guides and observation booths/huts are the best.
Not sure about bird ringing but I am excited to check that on google myself!
About biking - I am not sure. I know there are plenty of hiking trails, well organized.
Have a fun time!
