    Falling standards despite sky-rocketing fees
What’s going on? You are reducing your staff (or they are leaving because you are cutting their hours) so good luck finding gym floor staff. housekeeping standards have dropped considerably (what no shower gel), you recently ‘encouraged’ top level members to bring their own towels (towels at Hatfield are now very small/useless)…YET membership fees have skyrocketed… counter-productive cost cutting and taking away your market differentiators means come renewal time as the cost of living crisis worsens,,, well we will go elsewhere…. 20 years of membership and the worst this has ever been. Sort yourselves out DL

    Membership services very poor
Be very very careful when signing a membership! You won't be told this when you join up, but there is a 3 month notice period even if they cannot provide services. DL Norwich had broken spin floor for several months this year severely impacting class environment. I notified the club I would be leaving and they have relentlessly hounded me to pay to the end of the notice period, just recently getting a debt collector involved. This was all despite my bank advising me that failure to provide goods and services was a valid reason to cancel my direct debit.

Subpar club with terrible customer service.
After 8 years of swimming lessons at David Lloyd Lichfield for my children, they gave us 2 days notice to inform us that we could no longer access the club or the swim lessons. They lied and told us they had informed us via email, but I had not received anything. A call would have been nice to inform me in advance. My children were in tears as they had to say goodbye to their longstanding swimming instructor. David Lloyds has little regard for their membership and do not look after loyal members. Considering the cost of the facilities and the subpar offerings, they should be careful to treat their members with more regard.

Not enough parking places, really not convenient after sport or spa to walk all the way to the outside parking. shuttles may bring you if you come before 18.00 but after that you need to walk half kilometer to the outside parking, really appreciated in rainy nights. A single towel, cost reduction is good but at the expenses of clients, who need to bring a towel to go to spa zone (additional charge but now extra towel). Especially appreciated when you need to walk to the outside parking with your big sport bag and wet towel (additional laundry). In other spas 2 towels are a minimum. Really old style lockers with no electronic bracelets. Small spa zone, no outside garden, small everything vs. value

    David lloyds Bicester
I joined David Lloyd on September 20th, shortly after moving to Bicester, signing a 12-month platinum membership contract. In November, I used three free personal training sessions included in my membership. Enjoying them, I expressed interest in booking more sessions, and the PT explained the process through the app. She mentioned a discounted rate if I booked eight sessions. Unfortunately, I got injured at work after three sessions and had to pause for two weeks. In January, I discovered that David Lloyd had charged £996 for the PT sessions without my consent. Additionally, they increased my membership fee without permission. I discussed this with my PT, who promised to speak to the manager about a refund due to my injury. However, the gym manager said it needed approval from higher management. Eventually, they offered vouchers for future sessions instead of a refund. This unexpected charge of £664 has put me in financial distress, as I had to borrow money to cover it. David Lloyd's actions feel like a scam, leaving me in even more debt. I sent emails to the management to ask for a meeting, and I called numbers times and never refunded any money or called me back. Now I can't cancel my contract. Just becarfull.

    Very Unprofessional
Very poor service at the club we are now taking them to court. which one of their top mangers has responded and I quote "embarrassing to respond to" whilst talking about our claim. Also very aggressive when after money we missed a payment because of the court case and constantly harass a woman. Which we have now filled another court action.

Wouldn’t recommend if your main goal is to play tennis. In theory 4 tennis courts...
On court 3 and 4 the lights dont function properly and they can’t repair (rumour is there are financial problems).
On court 2 they decided to put a party tent so you cant play tennis on it.
That means in evening hours there is only court 1 available. Knowing the courts are not properly maintained and look more like a sandbox.
Remark: The monthly cost of 130 Euro is about what you would pay for playing a whole summer in a regular tennis club, with 8 to 12 available courts, properly maintained and with lights.

I am a platinum family member at lichfield club. Unfortunately I have been forced to freeze my membership after developing epilepsy, my wife and 2 kids are still members- I pay for them. Feeling a little better today I went down with them and tried to pay on the door. I was refused admission, told I couldn't pay on the door, they refused to take a call from my wife verifying who I was and said I would have to rejoin to get in. Complete jobsworths mentality. I will cancel my membership and be 250 quid a month better off.

Facilities look quite nice from the outside.
But could not fact check facilities that in real life....Went there today to check for a possible membership.

Had to wait 20 min and then somebody came and said I had to come back and make an appointment to see the facilities. I WAS ASKED TO COME BACK ON ANOTHER DAY...TO SEE THE FACILITIES. On a pretty quiet Easter day.

Wonder how that will be on a normal day...first thing in life for everything I guess. Typically Belgian. After 12 years in Dubai you get used to good service.

Good luck David Lloyd ! Will go elsewhere.
