Really nice, easy walk along Moville seafront towards Greencastle. Nice bracing breeze off Lough Foyle. Lovely views and little inlets/coves with beaches. Not too busy.
I saw other reports about dog 💩 being a problem. Ok, there was some, but too bad. Worse at Inch Wildfowl Reserve.
A lovely place.

It is such a shame that all the dog poo runs this beautiful amenity. Its disgraceful....each morning dog s##t on the grass on the path...but the owners who go to the trouble of picking it up putting in a bag but somehow cant be bothered to take it to bin are prob he worst. It's a 5 star place but you dog owners have it ruined.

We walked this path on two different days and it was popular. There are plenty of seats along the way, particularly at the Moville end. The total walk is about 3km from the Moville end with a small car park at 2.2km and finishing at a small beach. A really pleasant walk with beautiful views across the Foyle lough.

Great paths to walk, quite easy to walk and take your time. I have leg problems and was able to enjoy the time as not bumpy or hilly lovely. No bikes to look out for. Can be busy though

We were in the area for family wedding but this was far more than a place for us to sleep -- it turned into a delightful mini break due to the boutique hostel, friendly town and shore path walk.

It's a great walk for dogs or without pets with clean paths but also areas were you can climb rocks or step down onto the beach. You can join it from Greencastle, Moville or start in the middle. Beautiful and quiet!

I never tire of walking the Moville Shore Path. There’s nowhere that compares. It’s beautiful. There’s plenty of places along the way to sit back and take in the view.

Where is the closest access point from Greencastle of I want to do the walk in the opposite direction? (ie Greencastle to moville and back)
Written August 12, 2019
We were in Moville and just walked to the beach which was a minutes walk from the main street. The path was in front of us and wound its way round the shore to Greencastle. I would imagine it's the same coming from Greencastle to Moville.

Where does this walk start? Is it easy to find? Suitable for a buggy? Thank you.
Written October 29, 2018
I think the answers already given are accurate. If you start in Moville (go towards water and take left) then you could walk with a buggy for about 2km. You could simply walk until it would get too difficult for the buggy and then turn back. It's nice to do the walk both ways. Cement or tarmac so easy for using a buggy. Enjoy - it's a lovely walk.

Would you say the path is wheelchair accessible?
Thank you
Written July 12, 2017
There is no problem with a wheelchair, but caution should be taken when decending from Moville Town, as there is a decline, due care and attention required. If you have another person with you, then no problem at all. The path is wide enough to proceed as far along the path to Lafferty's lane/ shore walk (walk down to the shore from upper main public road). I would not advise going towards Greencastle as the walkway involves crossing beach fronts or stony path between Lafferty's Lane / shore walk to Greencastle. However it is a lovely 2km route from Moville to Lafferty's lane, with carparking space at the bottom of Lafferty's Lane/ shore walk. Coming back up from the Shore walk in a manual wheelchair will require strenght of arms, but if the wheelchair is motorised or you have someone to help push, no problem. Enjoy!!

Hi I am particularly interested in seeing the "book cupboard" on this walk I see from other people's posts that it is near the start of the walk and near a park I think ? but is that walking from moville to greencastle or from greencastle towards moville?
Thank you in advance!
