Lepakshi, in the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, is easily accessible from Bangalore. The beautiful Veerabhadraswamy Temple and India’s largest monolithic granite Nandi (a bearlike creature) make for a great day-trip option.

The temple is rich in architectural works. Apart from the main temple there are few more unfinished pillars. Looks like major plan was not completed. Its a treat to sculpture lovers. A good place to explore.

Parking is less spaced. The priest is patient with not just the pooja but also explains the history behind the temple constructions. A pair of socks and water is a must to roam around the whole place.
