You have to board a boat from Benfish harbour. The price we paid was Rs. 1,600-. The journey takes about 2.5 hours. The ride was enjoyable as you get to see migratory Siberian gull and other birds and occasional flying fish. Its a pity that visitors are not allowed to land on the island.

Very nice place to visit when you are in Bakkhali. The boat ride to this island is very exciting and thrilling. The local people will give you different stories about Jambu Dwip.

Sailed through the Bay Of Bengal for 45 to 50 minutes, West Bengal Government at present has prevented tourist to get down on the beach of Jambu Dwip the trawler halted for 30 mins near the coast line watched red crabs... Thrilling experience. You need to go there by so called "Bhutbhutis" local launches (can't be termed as steamer). Not for the weak hearted a word of caution as these small sized boats gets tumbled enough on the undulating waves. Reaching there, you will be find a neverland with almost no presence of civilisation. You feel like a cast away for... More

The boat ride from Frazerganj to Jambu Dwip is scary I must say. But it would be a lifetime experience. You’ll experience a roller coaster ride in the Bay of Bengal. And I think the ride is safe enough. One can charter an entire boat for around 1500 rupees (don’t do bargaining, it’s a fixed rate) or ride as a... More

We took a medium sized boat.. charged at 90 per head.. which looked like much of a ferry ride at first.. when entering the bay.. if you've not experienced the mammoth ups and downs.. as shown in Hollywood films.. except these happened in real life.. :D It was as if I had seen dooms day.. with dark clouds everywhere... nd... We could see the red crabs on the shore. Great view. The forest behind was also as attractive as it could get. But alas ! We were not allowed to disembark on the beach. We saw both West Bengal Maritime Police and Indian Coast Guards patrol boats keeping an watch.
