We enjoyed a very pleasant walk alongside this artificial lake for just over an hour and 15 minutes to get from the car park at Bionaz to the Rifugio Prarayer.

The lake was formed by the building of the Place Moulin Dam which was constructed between 1955 and 1965 and is approximately 2,000 metres above sea level. The water was an immaculate shade of blue even though it looked as though the water levels were low.

Amazing views with the snow capped alps in the background.

Spectacular view, beautiful colors of the lake, a quiet walk suitable for everyone. At the end of the walk there is the possibility of having lunch at the refuge.

Breathtaking panorama, the glacier contrasting with the blue and green of the lake. The walk is a little longer than the one indicated on the yellow signs but it's worth it.
Recommended in spring or early summer: the dirt road is mostly in the sun so the heat of the summer months makes the walk challenging.
At the start of the path, in addition to a convenient paid car park with attached toilets, there is also a bar serving excellent homemade desserts.
