Beautiful but dangerous

Although the natural beauty of the cave, the surrounding landscapes and the artists' skill in carving the rocks was worth appreciation, I was often frightened at the sight of mountainous snakes here and there.

In Jogighopa to be precise, amazing drive from Bongaigaon town. But then, the district is so lush with nature every drive is super good and this particular historical jem is a must visit.
The caves, ancient and rugged, and a delight to explore. They are of Buddhist origin and it is a good idea to hire one of the local people as guides, be polite to them and reward them without grudge. Lest assured you'll love to hear about these treasures of history.
Try to use the daylight as much as possible, evenings come quickly in the northeast. You wouldn't want to miss a cup of the famed Assam tea in the dying light of the late afternoon after your trek around as you gaze in silence at a period gone by.

unique piece of rock architecture in assam . Loved this place . It is underrated but the very fact that this sort of architecture was present in assam made me think that there is a lot unexplored in north eastern india.
