The temple complex and mythology of Machkund is very interesting and provokes a sense of peace and calmness. However, this place needs serious attention from the local authorities. The waterbody needs to be cleaned and dumping of waste into it has to seriously controlled. The temple complex also needs to be cleaned and then it can provide the visitor with a better experience.

We enjoyed walking around the lake with all these different and interesting temples. It was so nice and quiet and we were almost the only visitors. Not touristy at all.

A beautiful tourist spot hardly advertised ... we would have missed it had it not been for some research I did. It’s a must see.

Even though there had not been any rain for ages, this was still an incredible place to see. You need binoculars (or telephoto lense) to see the other side of the huge lake.

Look out for kingfishers and indian ringnecks, as well as the MONKEYS !!

Dholpur is often neglected by travelers in their rush to visit Gwalior, We stopped over here for a snack break and the locals informed us about this temple. Its quite pretty and peaceful, suggest you try to avoid it during noon as its quite hot and the sun is harsh.
