First of all, I wholeheartedly Thanks to the ruling Govt. for the construction of Dhansiri river Pukka Bridge connecting between Sarupathar (Golaghat dist) and Deoplani (Karbi Anglong) dist. Deopani Durga Maa Mandir is one of the ancient & popular Sacred & devotional religious temple in the State, where every devotees of Durga Mata love & eager to visit along with their families to get her blessings, once visited, person wishes to come here every year. Devotees who wishes to visit from unknown place may come to Sarupathar town either by Train or any other comfortable vehicle, and from Sarupathar town it is very easy & comfortable to reach the Sacred Durga Mata Mandir. Morning time is very suitable & fruitful for the darshan & puja to the Maa, thereafter, could be enjoyed with simple tea snacks or veg meal available nearby restaurants according to your choice. My best wishes for visiting Mata ki Mandir. Jai Deopani Maa.

It is highly regarded temple in this area and visit to this place will make you surrender to Mother Durga. It is located amid a tea garden and serenity is very quite and calm. When you will enter in this temple you will be surprised by the feeling of some positive energy engulfing you.
It is not a full day affair but you may like the surrounding and can spend some time around it.

It is located almost secretly, a little ahead of the Nambor Reserve Forest and then more, and holds an aura of mystery and power in itself. Maybe because it is Durga Temple or maybe because I went at 6 in the morning when footfall was less, but the impression I had was of peace as much as power. It almost makes you feel like you're in the presence of an unseen being.

Anyway, I loved the place because of its colours too. Temples in Assam are quite blandly serene and to see the riot of colours, owing to the chadar and ribbon that people offer at the temple, made it a rich experience.

Take a car or book a bus collectively if you can. It is not on the highway, so getting down and walking to the temple would be tiring.
