Dawki is a town in Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya, India. It is one of the few road border crossings between India and Bangladesh. It is used mainly for coal transportation to Bangladesh. Some 5 kms away from Dawki towards Mawlynnong, a wide waterfalls is located on the road named as Bop Hill Falls. It streams down to form a river in the Sylhet Borders of Bangladesh. A pleasure for eyes, as hardly we come to see a place where a waterfalls is forming into a river of a neighbourhood country plains. The water is milky white and gushing down to form water droplets. Unexplored, serene and deep in the nature. A short stay here for 10-15 mins is recommended just to devour the beauty of the place. People visiting Mawlynnong can also explore a bit towards this side. Around 15 kms down from Mawlynnong towards Dawki. Don't forget to bring your cameras and umbrellas of course if it's monsoon. Advisable to come during monsoons/summer to get the best views.

Bophill Waterfalls is one of the finest waterfalls in Meghalaya. Interestingly, the road bridge brings you close to watch, feel the waterfalls, its currents, beauty etc. It is located in the road between Mawlynnong village and Dawki in a picturesque location.

This waterfalls in on the way from Mawlynnong to Dawki. While returning from Dawki to Mawlynnong we missed the signage as it was dark and took the wrong route. We crossed a checkpost and still moved ahead and suddenly we realised we were standing on a suspension bridge and could hear the sound of the water falling. We lowered the window glasses of the car and what we saw was just thrilling. It was 7:30-8:00 pm and pitch dark outside not any star on sky or moon still we could see the bright milky water falling not even 15 meters away. We were scared and even though we were afraid we all exclaimed together 'WOW'.
What a sight and what a mysterious beauty. For all the nature lovers its a must visit place and those of the adventure seeker I would say if possible do visit this place when its dark. Its thrilling and equally amusing.

We were going from Dawki river to Krangsuri falls when our driver took a detour & told us that he's going to show us a lesser known waterfall. The road was quite bumpy but once we reached the fall, it was worth the difficulty in reaching the place. The fall was so strong even in May that we were getting sprinkled by the gushing stream, so one can not take a plunge here for sure in any weather. The road runs parallel to the Bangladesh border and you could literally see the water flowing into Bangladesh across the border. The locals told that it's name is Borhill falls not Bophill falls. After spending 15 minutes there, we went ahead & found another waterfall which doesn't have a name. The locals told that this unnamed fall drops into Borhill falls. This fall was less ferocious & had a perfect pool to take a plunge which I did with my 2 year old daughter.

This shortcut Road is not so good. But if you like waterfalls, this road is must for you. One side of the road is mountain and the other side, you can see the plain land of beauty, Bangladesh. This Bophill is one of the two big falls in this road. Water flows to Bangladesh and you can see it. You can experience the beauty here. Water flow is so fast, it may be risky to get into the water.

Very large waterfall in Meghalaya that you can locate while travelling on the road. It's so beautiful and eye catching that you can't help but to stop the vehicle and get down to experience it.

Extremely scenic nature with green mountains around and the large waterfall with nice sound of water falling with speed.

To visit this place, you have to take Mawlynnong - Dawki road which is not as good as highway but is worth the detour. Nothing much around this place but the view is very nice. You can park the vehicle there and click a few pics.

The BOPHILL FALLS was a great surprise on our way to Dawki. Situated adjacent the main road separating India and Bangladesh, this place is a perfect prelude to the awesome waterfalls that awaits you in Cherrapunjee. Loved it !
