Just another example of Mother Nature showing of, stunningly beautiful but just part of the overall coastline, the azure blues, the white sand, bluest sky ever just combine for picture postcard stuff everywhere you look, Magical.

Nice scenery. If you are travelling to the nearby area, it is worthwhile to pay a visit. Not the best in the area though

It's kinda out of the way during your drive, but it's worth it for spectacular views. You could spend hours there gazing at the rock, watching the waves, and contemplating life. Find a nice quiet spot for yourself, wear good hiking shoes, and get lost...More

The waves were crashing on the rocks and rolling on to the beach. It was an amazing sight and we just sat watching for ages. It was very relaxing and peaceful.

The ocean around sugar loaf rockscwas very wild, nice spot to see the waves braking around the rock, loads of humoback whales passing by on their migration towards the south. Dress warm with weatherproof jacket.

A fantastic location with a mix of rocks and beaches, with some relatively easy access (still with steps, but with a gentle slope and wide stairs) to the viewing platform. A great sunset location, even when nature left the hues at home. You can clamber...More

We visited today and found that the viewing platform was an excellent place to see the whales. We also saw a number of lizards and I am sure there would have been snakes too!

For me, it doesnt look like sugarloaf bread, but I cant deny the amazing view. The road to sugarloaf is quite scary when near sunset as it is a single way in and out. Somehow, i manage to bring my hot coffee in termos and...More

Hi, I have taken into account many suggestions by various users in this forum, and I may have finally gotten the itinerary that would work well. That being said, I may be wrong, so I would like to gather opinions on this. Day 1: Land in the morning -> pick up car -> Fremantle Markets -> Rockingham (45min drive) -> Penguin Island -> return to Rockingham Accommodation: Rockingham Day 2: Drive down to Bunbury -> dolphin cruise -> lunch at Bunbury (recommendations?...More

Relaxing Southwest Trip Report - Day 1 (18 Replies)
Many, many heartfelt thank you-s to all here at TA! We are back from our really, really enjoyable 10-day Perth & Southwest vacation & I must say, it was enjoyable primarily because of all the great advices I received here at TA. We stuck as close to plans as possible but also struck off quite a few spots from our itinerary mainly because we didn't want to tire out our 2-yr-old boy so you'll notice that we did not visit a lot of attractions & many afternoons were spent at home...More

Good first day report. I think much of what you have said is valuable to your fellow country men. We do our best to tell folks not to plan such long days after tackling the midnight horror flights. Fatigue sets in and if driving at that time it just becomes dangerous. Sorry the dining options didn't work to plan tho - that's a shame.
