There is not one but three temples in the small village of Khallari, 25 km from district headquarters, mahasamund and 80 km from Raipur. Jagannath temple is an archeological site built in the 13th century by a cobbler named Devraj. Khallari Mata temple is atop a hill and one has to negotiate 840 high steps to reach the place. It is about 250 year old. In the foothills there is 200 year old another Khallari mata temple. There is greenery all around with some magnificent Banyan and Semal trees. One can also see some archeological ruins in nearby fields.

There is 850 Staircase to visit the main temple. Beautiful view. You must have your own vehicle. You may get small road side restaurent(Better to say shop) for food. Temple opens at 12:00 o clock. So adjust your visting time.
