My favourite beach in Koh Larn. During my stay it was quite and relaxing. With the single cafe/restaurant on the beach witch provide service to the sun chairs gives it a classy feel. Highly recommend for true island experience.

This is my favourite beach on Koh Larn because it is the smallest and quietest; the perfect place to get away from other tourists and motorised water sports - though I have seen one man renting out a jet ski. It is sandy underfoot both in and out of the water. There are sun loungers or deckchairs for hire (50 baht for the day). This is the beach for those who want peace and quiet and do not need any beach entertainments.
Getting there costs 40 baht per person on the songthaew (open back trucks) from Naban port on Koh Larn, though this is based on many sharing transport so if it is just you and a friend you may be charged up to 100 baht for the journey. This is a lot of money by Thai standards.
As it is so isolated and not many go there, it may be difficult to find transport when you are ready to leave. On my last visit a Thai speaking friend had to speak to a local who called a friend who came and picked us up, If you are visiting I recommend you time your departure with when the last day trippers will have to leave to catch the last ferry back to Pattaya, or when you have your own transport - it costs 200 baht to hire a scooter for the day though you do so at your own risk and no travel insurance will cover any accidents when using one.

Had sweet memories of this island when I first visit 15 years ago. Unfortunately this island seems to have choosen the money of tourists, so nowadays it's totally invaded by Chinese. Nowhere to find a quiet corner on this island

We spend 3 days on Koh Larn and Ta Yai beach was our favorite beach. It’s a small but very quiet beach with crystal clear water to enjoy swimming and relaxing.

We visited ta yai beach as we wanted to avoid the business of other locations. It was a bit of a walk from the pier (if you don’t want to use motorbikes) but did deliver once we arrived. The sand is very soft and although the tide was coming in and there were other beach goers there, we had plenty of room. The sea was warm and the views when you swam out were beautiful. You also can’t see the city scape of Pattaya from here which is a bonus for an island retreat feeling.
Do note that the ‘restaurant’ seemed to be completely closed and so there wasn’t any option for food or water on the beach and there did seem to be some dogs running around for whatever reason. Although this did seem to be a theme across ko lan.

Getting to Tayai is the easy part. Upon reaching Naban Village, turn left, at the end of a short path turn right. You will see a temple and before the temple quite a number of baht buses. Figure out which beach you are going to, the fare is between 40 to 50 baht which you pay at the end of the ride. For Tayai Beach, our fare was 40 baht. We were lucky, we didn't have to wait one bit before the driver decided there were enough passengers to move off.
The beach was small and was ridiculously beautiful. For all the time we were at the beach, we noticed there weren't more than 15 people. We spent a couple of hours there swimming and taking in all that wondrous scenery.
Leaving the beach was a little trickier. The baht bus driver quoted 400 baht to leave the beach immediately. No thanks! We could walk. With google map and a SIM card, it wasn't hard to figure out the way back to the village. The walk took us 20 minutes and that was inclusive of all the time we spent stopping at various landmarks for pictures. (The money saved was used on bingsu at bali hai pier later on)
