Went through alot of reviews of beaches in Pattaya, and decided to visit Samae beach and Tien beach on Ko Larn. Concluded that Tien beach is the best for my preference, white sand, clear waters, not too many chinese tourist groups swarming like on one side of Samae beach. Pattaya sea tours will leave by 3-4pm, so the beach gets quieter. The last 2 operators of beach chairs at the end of Tien beach charges 100 baht a sun chair per day, whereas the operators at the beginning of the beach charge 50 baht per sun chair a day. good spot for sunset about 4-5pm. Last song thew to pier at 530-540pm to catch the 6pm ferry.
Settled at Nong Restaurant, the 2nd last beach sun chair operator cafe, 100 baht for large Chang beer, 100 baht for chicken pad thai. Reasonable for a day's expenditure. Servers are friendly and they seem to charge Asians slightly less than the price listed on menu for drinks...not sure if the westerners get the same "discount", which was unspoken, just reflected in the change received.

Toilets are 10 b and shower is 50 b, be ware not to even step into the toilet area even if you are just searching for a tap, as the woman in charge of the toilet will accuse you of using it even when you haven't been dishonest, and want to just ask for a tap to use. Very rude and unnecessary treatment. Pity it was a down side to an otherwise excellent experience.

Firstly I would like to say that a lot of the reviews for locations in Koh Larn are not actually there, most are in Pattaya or further afield. There are 7 beaches of varying beauty. You will be dropped off at Na Ban Pier, going south is Nual beach ( Monkey beach), going back up the west coast Samae beach, Thein beach around to Sungwan beach Ta waen beach Thong lang beach and a private beach Ta Yay Beach.

Again, some of the photos here are not Thein beach, Sting ray buiding is on Samae beach !

This is my favourite beach on the island, Its not over commercial. The restaurants are good and there is loads of space and sun loungers. You can hire Jet ski's or go on rings , banannas etc. Toilets are available in the establishments.

My friends and I were excited about spending the day at Koh Larn, just off the coast of Pattaya. We tried to arrange direct transport from Pattaya to Tien Beach on Koh Larn, but it didn't exactly work out. Even specifically showing the charter company where on the island we wanted to be dropped off at, we were still taken to the main [wrong] beach. This beach is jam packed full of Chinese & Russian tourists. From there we had to take a sungthaew ride for 40B over to Tien Beach. It was worth the hassle though, because that coastline is breathtaking. Turquoise water and white sand as far as the eye can see. There are a few restaurants and food stalls, but nothing extraordinary. I wish I had brought more water & snacks. But it was still a beautiful day on a beautiful island.

No mass tourism access means this is one of the quite beaches immune from the hordes of Chinese speed boat tourist. I am constantly amazed at how cultural perspective plays in people's view of nature. There is a bit of a walk involved from parking across a wooden walkway but that is part of the charm. Early morning there is very few people.

It’s is a nice island and it really could be a nice place for get away since it’s only 30min from Pattay, but it’s one of the most dirty place I ever visited. There a garbage everywhere on the island anywhere you go it’s the only thing you see . With so much tourism and so much money that the tourist spend here it should be super clean , it’s seem that they don’t even care . They are not polite and struggle to speak English so much that in the beach bars that is really annoying. It is a pity cause the beaches are really nice .

It’s a beautiful island off Pattaya beach. You can take ferry to the island for about $1.50 US dollar. The best way to see the island is to rent a scooter for $30 a day whether you go for a day trip or stay over night.

We had visited Tien beach, a very beautiful beach in Koh Lan during our holidays in Pattaya. From Tawaen beach we took a baht bus ride priced at 40 baht per person to Tien beach. This place is small and less crowded but the views of the sea with crystal clear blue waters and white sand are absolutely stunning and is a photographer's delight. We enjoyed our time strolling on the white sand and clicked pictures here to our hearts content. This place is very beautiful and a must visit place.
