Somnath is the main temple in 12 Jyotilinga. There is fantastic car parking facility some 300meter away from temple. They take Rs.50 per car, the entrance to parking is like toll gate.

One need to walk from parking till cloak room where you need to deposit all your mobiles, cameras, wallets, car keys, belts etc. (Suggest to keep all these things in car itself). From here there is separate queue for males and females where they do check you completely (for any mobiles, keys, wallets etc) and then send you inside. There is covered walkway which leads you to main temple. There is one more checking point where they do check you rigorously for any mobile, keys, wallets etc and then let you go in.

The darshan of somnath jyotirlinga happens peacefully inside as there is proper crowd management. The gents and ladies exits are opposite each other hence i saw lot of families searching there hubbies and spouses outside. To avoid it you can ask your spouses to keep standing outside the exit and you yourself can go and meet them.

There is prasad counter in temple complex where the ladoos tastes heavenly. The temple is nicely maintained from outside and have some beautiful carvings on them.

Not crowded at least when we visited and the best thing was that the donation process is computerized and hence well organised. The darshan was also pretty quick and we were out in no time at all.

There is a nice promenade circumventing the temple that overlooks the Arabian sea and is a pleasant walk around sunset. The distribution of cycles however could have been better managed.

Nagar style of architecture of the temple is particularly enchanting and preserved meticulously. Very clean environment and crowd of devotees is treated with respect. Devotees are allowed to have darshan but not allowed to touch the deities. Everyone is disciplined.

Beautiful temple situated on Arabian Sea. Marvellous architecture and decent campus.
Weird rule of separating male and female and before entrance you have to deposit your mobiles so no way to contact your spouse.
It can be managed in a much better way.
No crowd control and no social distancing, policeman and policewomen posted here are useless.
Such an iconic temple should be managed properly.

religious value - beyond words
touristy value - 10/10

right on the edge of the massive arabian sea, it looks breathtaking. temple complex is huge with clean washrooms tough a bit far from the main compound.

you can read the temple's history on google. The architecture is one of the finest and the temple itself looks so divine and peace full.
you have to deposit your phone , cameras and slippers. no pics allowed. not even from the outside. you can to do beyond the fortified iron grills to click pictures .

lots of places to eat. walk by the beach in evening is relaxing.

Looks great at night .
