About
This railway is operated by volunteers. All profits are reinvested into the railway. This site is an oasis of an open green space a stones throw from Kingston. We operate a 7.25 gauge ground level railway AND a multi gauge elevated railway. We offer parties access to our meadow complete with large picnic tables and umbrellas. On open days we run trains between 2-5:30pm. We also have a decent kitchen offering traditional cream teas and an ice cream parlour complete with diet busting ice creams. The railway opens on the first Sunday of every month from Easter until October plus any bank holiday Sunday and Monday. In December we are in our Santa Special - this is a ticket only event - tickets go on sale in August and very year. For more information check out the web site http://malden-dsme.co.uk Interested in railways? Contact us to dind out how to get involved.

Kids loved it

I took my 6 and 3 year old and they absolutely loved it. The volunteers there are brilliant, keeping everyone safe and making it even more fun. There are a few ticket options depending on how many of you and how many rides you want to do. Good value for money in my opinion.

Would definitely recommend

Great place for families
Jun 2019 • Family
Good value for money, £2.50 for an adult, if you are lucky you will get six trips around on different tracks. There is a little cafe where you can sit and watch the trains, my only negative would be that there are only biscuits cakes and ices, no healthy food for children, so I would say bring your own food. But a great day out for kids and their families alike.

I took my two year old sone to Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway, he really enjoyed riding the trains. The only downside was it was very busy and the queues were very long.

A delightful place
Aug 2018 • Friends
This is run by enthusiasts, who are happy to chat. The trains are excellent, for adults and children alike, with two circuits, one with the very small engines, one with large locos. They have an ice cream/seet shop, as well as an interesting tea hut for cakes and teas; they also have outside tables to sit at, as well as a central meadow for picnics.

Santa special
Dec 2018 • Family
Fantastic experience for the children, run by lovely people. We were all made to feel very welcome! Our party included grandparents, parents and 4 children from 5 yrs to 3 months. Mum was very grateful for the warm and welcoming café in which to feed the youngest. The rest of us (some of whom used to visit this railway a VERY long time ago) enjoyed the music and other attractions. The gifts they got from Santa were appropriate, very generous and well received!
