This is an absolute MUST if you are going to Norway or even then a reason to visit Norway in the first place! Let’s start with the scenery around this incredible area, tundra of the Arctic meets warm wooden cabins that are right amount of toasty. The views from the cabins themselves are to die for, being able to see the Northern lights from your bed is quite the statement! For us the staff and huskies made this an unforgettable trip. Gorun in particular took every opportunity to make us feel at home and involve us as much as possible in all of the activities we undertook! Whether this was cracking on with a snowshoe hike across frozen lakes and fjords or a husky ride to catch the northern lights (which we managed to see in great numbers thanks to Gorun himself). If you’re looking for the perfect mix between adventure, comfort and outright awe then The Snowhotel Kirkenes is a no brainer. I have and will continue to recommend my family and friends to go here and we too shall be making another trip! In 2-3 days you can experience all of the activities they have to offer with plenty of free time to cuddle the huskies and visit the reindeers! Don’t worry about being too cold as the team provides warm gear during all of the activities and ensure you are comfortable throughout. 10/10 experience and so so grateful for the team there.

Two friends and I booked the "Hunting the Northern Lights" tour. We were picked up by Goran, our guide at 9pm in the city centre. We drove to areas outside of Kirkenes and learned through Goran about what Northern Lights are and many many more things about nature up North and Kirkenes. We managed to see the Northern Lights for a bit, so were kind of lucky! Goran was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and with a huge sense of humour. He really contributed a lot to make this experience unforgettable. Average temperature -22 to -24 C!🥶 Thank you so much Goran! We hope we can see you again! Claudia, Martha and Maria del Carmen PS: Our only suggestion to Snowhotel Kirkenes is to provide the car with an additional heating system so that guests can really keep themselves warm when the car engine's off.

We were at the premises for a dog sledge tour and norther light hunting. The organisation of both activities was excellent. The sledge tour felt a bit short, but it might only be that it is so amazing that it seems shorter and leaves you wanting for more. All personnel had a very positive and helpful even to put our gear on. For the northern light hunting we were picked-up and returned to our hotel in the city by our guide Goran. He was highly knowledgeable on a lot of things related to the norther light, history, scientific explanations, geography, politics, you name it. Apart from that he was extremely friendly and fun to be with. We had really a good time with jokes and talks, a warm cup of tea and beautiful views of the norther lights. Thank you for the video on YouTube Goran!! Now we can share our experience with the whole world!! Highly recommended!!

My husband and I enjoyed the Hurtigruten coastal tour of Norway in July and in Kirkeness we enjoyed a fabulous King Crab safari arranged by Snow hotel and tour leader Michael. Michael was an enthiusiastic and very informative excursion leader. After a refreshing rib boat ride, we enjoyed the KIng crab fishing and seeing how the fresh crab was cooked and served for us in a beautiful rustic setting. All you could eat, and we would love to go back some day!

We went on crab safari in Kirkenes on a grey sunday. Two funny guys welcomed us at the dock, and after a safety brief, we got in the boats and drove out on the open sea with great speed. The guides showed us rare war monuments from ww2 and told us about the history of the native people who lived in Kirkenes. After that, we went to catch the king crabs, and boy did we get some! Pretty huge and magestic creatures! The guides told us all about them, and it was very interesting. After we had collected all the crabs we wanted, the next stop was a beautiful and typical north-norwegian «sea cabin» Where we were going to eating the crabs. Loaf, lemon and mayonese was already on the table, and the guides prepared the king crabs while we waited. It was a great trip, I highly recomend if you are in the area! Its a must-do experience. Thank you!
