One of the best beaches of the whole Portugal. There is a comfortable parking place, and two nice restaurants on the beach. Pay attention: in the area going to the left, people practice naturism. So, if this disturbs you in any way, go to the right.

Since we moved to Lisbon in 2008 we have been going to this beach steadily. Located at the end of the Caparica Coast, Meco beach can be reached by car from Lisbon taking directions to Sesimbra and from one of the roundabouts take the direction of Alfarim a small village on which at its central roundabout you take the exita that says praias and then at the end of the road veer right to the end of the road right in front of the Ocean. There are plenty of parking places, paid , one Euro to 80 cents for the entire day. The naturist beach is located to the left under the cliffhanger. It is a large beach and very long and you are in the middle of the nature since the entire coast with the exception of Caparica and Fonte Nova are the only to towns dotting the 30KM coast line. There is space for everybody and as far as you go from the car parks less people you will find. The sand is perfect since it is coarse enough not to stick like powder to your skin.

After returning from Vilamoura and Albufeira (Algarve.) I must say with great humility, is not possible to compare this beach with the ones in Albufeira, Quarteira or Vilamoura ... The Meco Beach is a natural paradise of the Atlantic Ocean, which Vilamoura etc never had...

The only problem is that the sea is very dangerous and most of the times you cannot swim. If you like nude beaches, on the left side of the beach there is a nude area.

We were looking for a nice beach outside of Lisbon that wouldn’t be too crowded but also isn’t in the middle of nowhere. This beach is a winner and is only 45 minutes in an Uber from Lisbon. It also has plenty of parking if you have a rental car. There are beautiful cliffs and a very long stretch of clean beach. It also has good amenities: clean bathrooms, two restaurants, and umbrella/beach chair rentals if you are interested in that.
We liked it so much that we spent the entire day there, until 7pm when we realized it was probably time to head back!

What a clean beach! It stretches for a long way and is probably one of the best beaches in the area. It carries the blue flag and a lifeguard is on standby.
Right at the Atlantic Ocean, you would have thought that the water would be freezing. However, it was quite pleasant. The waves were amazing and my nine year old enjoyed jumping - or trying to - over them.
The water is reasonably shallow for quite a way. However, with younger children be a little careful as the current and pull of the waves can be quite strong. Wind also plays a factor here and a wind shield would be useful although not completely necessary.
There are two good restaurants directly on the beach. Our favorite was Restaurante Onda Azul.

Undoubtedly one of the places you must not miss if you have rented a car on your visit to Lisbon, Cross the Lisbon bridge, go right to Sesimbra and then again for Lagoa de Albufeira. A wild beach with two excellent restaurants Bar do Peixe, were you literally drink a Sangria with your feet in the sand, excellent fish, the best sunset, not cheap, and Gula do Meco, good quality / price large balcony overlooking the beach and the sea, excellent to have meal / drink in the sun

The settings is nice, the sand space is huge, and there's plenty of parking space. Nevertheless the waters are a bit dangerous and the road to the place is a bit overcrowded. Nevertheless a place to good in an hot summer day.

Hola Alejandro
