Parking is free (no shade though) and outside the high season (August) you can normally park quite close. From the top you have a scenic view of the beach below and the coastal line. There is a huge, rather new staircase that brings you all the way down to the beach. Despite the height its quite comfortable, even to climb up again as the steps aren't very steep. Near the parking there are restaurants and cafés, located at the entrance of the camping there, but on the beach itself there is no catering. The beach is clean and there are litter bins. The sea can be quite rough, but on calm days its perfect for a swim through the waves. I haven't seen a lifeguard on this part of the beach, but as the beach is connected with praia do Meco, the life guard there probably watches it all.

The most "regular" beach in Aldeia do Meco that is neither nude nor gay, like the huge main beach in Meco. So if anyone is afraid of nudity this should be the place to be. There is a nice restaurant with a terrace with a spectacular view above the beach.

A long walk down the stairs to the beach. When we were there it was so hot you needed to swim and to high wawes so it wasn't possible. A short stay because of the heat.

Praia das bicas is the first and main beach in Sesimbra.
It's very clean, the sand is beautiful and the sea is too.
Lots of varied water activities to do for example Hire of a Pedalow 1hr 7 euros for 4.
Banana boat 7 euros each, Kayaks at 6 euros each 1hr.
A truely beautiful location.
After you day at the beach there are modern and clean toilet/ shower facilities near by
(min walk) to get changed in.
Open to the public until 4pm every day.
Lots of lovely cafe's and restaurantes with their unique specialities to sample. Small shopping area too.
Sesimbra is very inviting and friendly place to spend a day or maybe more.
Would Recommend - Great days out

Nice and clean and when we visited, on a Friday, it was near deserted without a handful of other couples dotted widely apart along the beach. The sea was a little too rough to venture in as it was a windy day but the beach was perfect otherwise. We didn't venture far from the steps but we didn't see any shops or vendors on the beach itself. I'd advise you plan ahead and bring snacks and drinks. However there is a nice restaurant at the top of the steps if you need a drink or toilet (takes a while though to use the steps though and I imagine it would be quite a chore if it was busy).

When in almost the country was rainning, here it was a sunny hot afteernon. We did paddle, got sun, had lunch. I recommend it for many reasons. It was not wind, the water was good and without waves. Amazing!

Very beautiful beach, super quiet and surrounded by pure nature.
It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, since it is necessary to descend (and climb on the return) a large staircase. Access is not very good, the road has many holes, however there are signs warning for this.
