This was the best experience we had with mathieu tour guide! the tour guide was very punctual, he made the pick up at our hotel. we visit a large market located in a fishing town with a guided tour inside to discover the different types of fish, regional pastries, bread, aromatic plants and also different olives from different places in Portugal. we drove through the beautiful Serra da peninsula de Setubal and got to know the local flora and fauna, guide Mathieu was very informative and a true tourist guide. on this tour we also visited a local factory where different types of tiles are made, the local guide alexandre was very attentive during the visit, on site it is possible to buy tiles to take to different countries. The cellars are fantastic! very different... one older and familiar, and another more modern with art galleries. we prefer the second family cellar, the wines are of great quality in both cellars. We ate in a wonderful and typical fish restaurant. . . In this restaurant it is possible to eat the fish that exist in the market. This tour is very well designed, as the tile factory is linked to the visit to the castle. In the castle of Sesimbra we visit a 13th century church with ten thousand tiles, we can see Sesimbra from a beautiful viewpoint. Mathieu took a walking tour inside the castle and explained the entire chronological history of this military monument. Thank you Mathieu for all your attention, professionalism, dedication and devotion during our tour!

Arrabida wine tour it is our best seller. It is with great devotion and high knowledge that our qualified tour guides shows Peninsula de Setubal wine region.
This excursion it is more then a wine tour, it is a cultural tour that allows the traveller to visit the incredible tiles factory, a medieval castle near Sesimbra fishing village, two beautiful wines located in Azeitão, the third best market in the world and the astonishing views to Arrábida Natural Park.

My hiking experience in Portugal with our knowledgeable guide was nothing short of remarkable. The journey was set against the backdrop of the captivating sea, offering breathtaking panoramic views. It was a surreal and calming experience to walk by the ocean, with the rhythmic sound of the waves providing the perfect soundtrack for our adventure.
Our guide was exceptionally well-versed with the local terrain and history, ensuring we didn't miss any highlights. The pinnacle of our hike was undoubtedly the sight of dinosaur footprints, a testament to the rich prehistoric past of the region. Andre and Natasha provided outstanding service and delivered an exceptional local experience. the entire tour was customized to provide a unique experience by visiting many scenic ocean sites, castles, hiking trails, and local restaurants.

Andre M****** is was highly unprofessional and inappropriate on this tour.
This person made highly sexist comments all the way through the tour whilst pointing at my breasts as closely as possible.
I recieved the worst injury of my hiking career on a pretty standard summit ON LEVEL GROUND on the way out of the park with this company, questions still remain as to how I managed to 'slip' on a boulder on a hot day, however, a seasoned hiker will tell that a guide should know every danger spot on a walk they profess they've done hundreds of times before, partcularly one that causes this much damage. I am now scarred and have had to undergo rigorous training.
He then insists on taking a photo of me clearly in pain with my bad knee and posts it on his company's facebook page.
It gets even worse, my knee was very badly damaged and bloody, so this tour guide then decides to hit my knee repeatedly with his jeep's glove compartment door despite my insistence that he stop. And bullies me into giving him a 5 star review, whilst manipulatiing his way into my hotel to blag some new business.
I get back to England and my friends, immediately concerned, demand that I take down my 5 star review down and contact the Look Around Tours facebook page requesting that they take down the highly offensive picture of me in excruciating pain.
This company then harassed me, they emailled me to demand that I take down the review, and I've recieved a phone call on my work number from Portugal, a number they weren't given.
I have approached the Portuguese tourist board about this person and they went straight to the authorities, so I feel there could be some history there. Andre M****** certainly came across as an abusive personality with myself, the next time I will most certainly go with a certified company, please do the same!

The tour guide was very nice. But I have to say this was the worst tour I had in Lisbon. The tour itinerary is maybe not great. I paid $250 for a wine tour, and also I'm sorry to say though some may find it quaint for the amount of money it just doesn't make any sense we were picked up in someone's personal car, with someone's personal things inside, sticky hand rails etc.. It just felt very weird. And we had to pay for lunch! And for the money I just don't see it. This to our cost almost four times as any other tour that takes you out of the city but it is really not worth what they are charging. I feel like this might be a scam...
I would not recommend this tour.
We went to several other places, a lot of driving,and two wineries. Having had several tastings in various countries I have to say these were definitely the worst tastings I have ever had. They didn't seem to care about the wines they really didn't seem to care about you. And we spent a lot of time visiting other places like a tile store and a fish market and etc which were really nice and great but maybe not what you're expecting if you're looking for a wine tour.
I would not recommend this tour.

Jaime is one of our best tour guides, who always provides a 5-star service with a vast knowledge of tourism.
Our customers are always transported in private and insured vehicles.
When Daisy booked the tour, you should have read the detailed description of the tour, it easier to understand that the tour is cultural, gastronomic with a rich religious heritage of Setubal Peninsula de Setubal wine region.
The local guides who carry out the visit to the two best and most prestigious in the south of Lisbon are licensed and professional guides.
This is the wine tour with the best reviews of the great Lisbon area for its cultural heritage, rich in wines and many other must-visit places: Tiles factory, one of the best markets in the world, Arrabida Natural Park, the beat wine companies of south area of Lisbon , 7 different wines, Sesimbra Castle and breath taking views.

I should’ve known we were in trouble when the guide launched into an unprompted tirade about how awful his ex-wife was. Filled with expletives and vitriol, it was deeply disturbing to hear this from a man we had met only two minutes before.
Putting aside that antisocial behavior, the guide suffered from one of the biggest problems a tour guide can ever face: he didn’t listen. He didn’t listen when I told him my name six times and he kept forgetting it. He didn’t listen when I told him explicitly three times by email what we wanted to do that day and how we wanted to do it.
In the end, we cut cut the tour short because he had planned it so badly and we felt so uncomfortable with him.

Mr.Jason was a pity you did not enjoyed the tour.
Maybe our tour guide was in a good mood.
We talked afterwards with our tour guide and he completed all point that you ask to visit during this excursions.

Andre the tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. We did not enjoy the 1st winery on the tour. There was an hour of educational museums before getting to the wine sampling that was not in the description of the tour. The first exhibit was centered on the Holocaust which was pretty heavy. We were on vacation looking for a fun relaxing day, and the Holocaust exhibit during a wine tour felt out of place for a wine tour. There was also an African art exhibit we were forced to go through that did not interest us. The 2nd winery, market and tile shop were great. I wish we had spent more time at the 2nd winery. The cost was also overpriced for having to buy our own lunch and only getting 5 wine samples total. Andre was awesome though.

Some of our clients, like the art gallery of Quinta da Bacalhoa. It is part of the tour linked with art, wine culture and relógios monuments, gastronomy and traditional culture of tiles made by hand.
This is more then a wine tour, this super complete excursion shows to the traveller the gastronomy of all Peninsula de Setubal wine region, with cheese tasting in one of the best markets in the world. The incredible Castle of Sesimbra, breath taking views to the ocean in Arrábida Natural Park. 2 winneries with different conceptions.
As your read in the description of the tour, before you make the reservatiom, the only thing not included in the tour it is the lunch.
We respect your opinion about the wine company of Quinta da Bacalhoa.
Some of our clients like more Quinta da Bacalhoa and others José Maria da Fonseca.
Different travellers, different tastes.

Guide dropped us off for lunch for 1 hour 45 minutes. We were done in 45 minutes, and had to wander around with nothing to do. It COULD be worth it if you ASSERT yourself, as to what to do. Vineyard visit was interesting, fish market was, too, but overall not worth a day of our time.

We are very sorry for you had qualified our service like not recommended.
The point of our tours is passing a day trip without rush and be a little bit out of crowdie touristic places. Normally, we give to our clients 1,5-2 hours (depends also on wine tastings which should be booked on advanced) for have lunch with calm, take pictures, have a walk in the fishing village Sesimbra and have some time to enjoy one of the best beaches of Portugal (Beaches of Sesimbra are ones of fews in Portugal which have the certificate of “The Blue Flag”).
We are very sorry that you didn’t find this tour interesting for you, but we also did not have the opportunity to show you the great part of the tour after lunch. We had to visit one of the highlights of this tour, the "Quinta da Bacalhoa" wine company, considered the best wine company in Portugal and Christ the King.

We went to the market, then tile factory(which took 15 minutes) and then to two wineries. In between we went to lunch and the tour guide took us to a very expensive restaurant which was supposed to be local. We asked if we could go to a different less expensive restaurant and he said yes and then told us where to eat but wouldn’t give us the option of picking. He was very pushy to the point where we left the other restaurant after he left so he wouldn’t give us pushback. The wines were decent although they let us only try 2 or 3. They served basically the same wines at both. I was expecting more of a country wine tour instead of 2 close to Lisbon. The tour itself included a lot but it went very long about 11 hours in total. By the end we did not want to do the last 2 things and we are 27 years old lol. The tour guide himself wasn’t great, almost getting into accidents multiple times, on his phone while driving, meeting up with “colleagues” multiple times at different locations so we could not find him. We felt like he was on an errands run and just taking us along

First of all . We don t agree with your review because we talked with the tour guide and what you said
does not correspond to almost all thinghs that happened during the tour.
The tour guide it is a great tour guide with vast experience in tourism, pontual, polite and qualified tour guide, and above all a great driver!
You went to the incredible fish market and you did a cheese degustation of 2 cheeses and the local bread when it was supposed to do one!
The group went to the local restaurant Peixe da Vila and the tour Guide asked to you and your friend and the other couple and gave you the option of an expensive restaurant or cheap restaurant...
Both, you and the other couple choose the restaurant of peixe da Vila, the cheaper one.
Where the average price per person it is 20€ per person! With fresh cheese and local bread included. The other couple left a tip of 50€ to the manager of the restaurant by the quality of food and by the great service!
You told to the tour guide that you did not want to eat in the restaurant and you prefer to go to other restaurant. Because you wanted "Pasta" or Pizza, or meat.
He talked with the owner, and you agree with the price. Please, the average price per meal was 12 euros per person. You agree. And we did the reservation of the table!
After we picked up the other travellers, we went to the second restaurant! .... And you vanished from the table without Telling nothing..showing an immense lack of disrespect for the second restaurant that received you with kindness!
Or tour guide took you again to another restaurant where average prices per meal were 12€, What you did after? You disappeared, Your behavior was unethical, showing a disregard for norms and morals. They booked the restaurant and then you left. The price per meal was 11 euros....
We set the pick up time for 3:30 pm and you only showed up at 3:45 pm, we were waiting for you with the other customers while yours went to eat at a hamburger place, not showing the slightest respect for the owner of the restaurant where we made the reservation.
The visit to the tile factory lasted 25 minutes and not 15 minutes, we confirmed later with the person in charge of the factory. Once again your comment does not correspond to reality.
Why did the tour take 11 hours and not 9 hours as it is supposed to be?
Because sometimes the wine companies are fullbooked and we have to make an appointment later. these are situations that we cannot avoid. unforeseen events.
Our professional guide answered two calls from the company in "hands-free" mode. It's legal in Portugal. never compromised your physical integrity and safety. And he is a great tour guide, this. Tour operator never had an accident.

Spent three days in Portugal exploring Sesimbra, Arabida, and Sintra with Look Around Tours. When visiting a new place, I try and find a tour guide who will show me things I wouldn't be able to find on my own - Andre exceeded in this regard. From the casual stops at local coffee shops, to the amazing meal at Isais, to the awe-inspiring views Azenhas Do Mar, I felt that I got to see the true character of Portugal, which is so much richer than what you see in the travel guide. It was an experience I will never forget.
Logistically, Andre was very punctual and accommodating with our schedule, taking lot of the stress out of the planning, which I really appreciated. You can trust Andre to maximize your time.
Finally, both Andre and Natasha gave the trip a very personal touch, which you don't often find in larger tour groups. They are both very genuine people, who I will happily explore Portugal with again.
Logistically, Andre was very punctual and accommodating with our schedule, taking lot of the stress out of the planning, which I really appreciated. You can trust Andre to maximize your time.
