Fun evening with Sveinung afew weeks ago... he is a great guy, and knows amazing places in Lofoten Islands to get the best pics of Northern Lights... I would clearly never have found these places by myself. He also showed me a few camera tricks I did not know about the Northern Lights, which require unique settings to get the best possible picture... Sveinung also has great stories and a good perspective on life. The pics turned out great... We started at 9 PM, and we went going past midnight... We went through several spots, the last one being a beach with the green lights flickering over our heads... A bucket list experience! I typically never do group / organized tours, but this one was completely worth it. I would do it again any time...

We went for the NL search with Mr.Sveinung. He is an excellent driver as well as guide. Even though the Kpi was very low that day he drove us great distances and finally we got to meet the Green Lady :-) . We visited 4-5 spots that night and Sveinung clicked lots of pics and mailed to us the next day. The tour was so good. They really delivered what they had promised.

I was so very fortunate to have booked the 6 hour sightseeing bus trip on a day that there were no other bookings, so was picked up from my hotel in a beautiful black Mercedes. My driver (sorry I can’t remember his name) was a fountain of knowledge and gave me loads of historic and new information about the Lofoten Islands. As there was only me on this tour, my guide was able to show me perhaps a little more than expected and whenever I wanted to stop and take photos he happily obliged. The scenery is nothing short of spectacular and in autumn, the colours so very vivid. I got to see the start and end of rainbows, experience both sunshine and rain, cute little fishing villages and bigger towns with a lot of history. The Lofotr Viking museum was filled with artefacts, stories of the local chieftain and the chieftain long house was incredible. I would highly recommend using Arcticbuss as these guys really know their stuff and go to all lengths to ensure that you get to see as much as possible and are highly knowledgeable on the Lofoten Islands.

We booked a tour from shore2shore-excursions that was provided by Artic Bus. There was in the end a dispute over what was provided. We had a bus of 49 people for a 6 hour tour. It turned out to be only a 5 hour tour with 2 short stops, one of which was to view our cruise ship from a hill and a short lunch break. It would have been nice to have time to view some of the villages. It turned out to be a very long drive. No one was happy at the end. Just check and re-check what you are getting if you use this service.

first night was picked up outside the hotel but unfortunately after about 15 minutes a real blizzard/whiteout happened, the driver, a norwegian, felt it useless to go on, as we couldn't see the road, good choice, the next night we drove for abour 30 mins and stopped and saw the northern lights. He was very good at stopping when there was even a glimpse of the lights. would recommend him highly
