You could easily walk past this museum in Naarden, but you shouldn't. The people that run this place really enjoy company and know a lot about engagement, telling a story and entertaining you. Don't go in when it's crowded or when you are in a rush. When they have time to give you a tour, this is a worthwhile entertaining... More

This is a very nice museum for young and old. You get a tour which can be both in Dutch and English on weighing scales but also on different other aspects on measuring and weighing in the scope of the history including the role of Napoleon Bonaporta. Surely worth visiting with your kids

This museum is interesting. The town is adorable. Definately visit for quirky history but also meander around town. Take the little trolley car tour, visit the windmill, shop at the butcher, baker or veggie market. Or sit in the outdoor square and watch the kids splash in the fountain. Lovely little town.

The owner Rene has collected weights and scales from all over the world and has them displayed in an historic building in Naarden Vesting - the Spanshuis - formerly a bakery for Napoleon's troops who occupied Naarden. Take the guided tour if you can.

He invited us in and gave us the full tour of the museum. When I looked online I was mostly interested in photographs of the building but I have to say... More
