This castle is not super old but it is interesting to visit. Lots of information from the 1900’s, famous visitors, family. Beautiful furnishings and enlightening stories about the rooms.

The castle stood centuries ago according to history. It was used as a defense wall of this small town. A bigger city like Maastricht is so close to be reached quickly by train then this small town was another settlement for the villagers to stay. A castle like this could have been probably used as a watch over building for defense.

While this is a pretty building to see while walking around Valkenburg, it is not something that you can visit as it is privately owned. But definitely pretty to see and imagine while strolling the old streets

The castle was recently renovated but it's privately owned. Very beautiful as it is facing the river.

The 'castle' is in use as private quarters. Unfortunately but understandingly you cannot visit the building. To be admired from the street.
