We drove from Camogli up to San Rocco, parked the car there (free parking outside of the village on week days) and hiked to Punta Chiappa. It's a nice path, through the woods above the sea, well maintained but there are a lot of steps.
To take a swim at Punta Chiappa must be wonderful, but no swimming for us, as we were there in December... ;-)

We are in our sixties, and with a little huffing and puffing and an occasional...”why are we doing this? “” From my husband. In a way he was right we could have been drinking wine and enjoying the beautiful views in Camogli.......but it was wonderful to get out in the countryside and enjoy the views, the old churches and the goats we ran into along the way. The trail was easily marked and there was nothing dangerous about it. You just need the stamina to climb up and up and up, and it helps if the ferry is running and you can take that back.

From San Rocco di Camogli a one hour long trail will take you to the beautiful Punta Chiappa: a long rock where you can dive and swim in an amazing transparent sea full of fish inside the Mount of Portofino natural park. Along the way you will find the little church of San Nicolò: a jewel of the XII Century.

I took the ferry from Camogli to Punta Chiappa and then walked to SF from there. It took about 3.5 hours. I'm pretty fit, but I found this walk pretty precarious in parts. The chains were sturdy but I was pretty nervous. There's no cellphone coverage in parts. I'd recommend walking it with others. Make sure you are strong and capable. They describe this walk as dangerous in parts. As much as I found it exhilarating and an adrenaline rush I would get the ferry next time. I would definitely not go near this route if there was ant sign of rain...that would just make it hideous!!

This walk starts or ends with the nice Camogli-San Frutuosso ferry ride. Lots of steps, but, unlike the Cinque Terre, the steps are even and easy to navigate. It's a beautiful little hike, past fishing communities and isolated villas, tiny local churches and a chicken farm. Everywhere there are beautiful views of the sea and inhabited hills

It is a place to swim with a shoals of fish and with star fish in a water with turquoise color. It is a real water paradise. The view of the nearest city and mountains on sunset is a stunning moment. It is a place to feel like in a hidden island even only for two days. There is rock as a beach. The dip in that water is like to fall down in acquario. You should absolutely take a look with a water mask, it is a must to vist this place:)!

I caught the train from Genoa (30 minuets) and actually walked Comagli - San Rocco - Ruta - Camogli. The scenery is stunning and the trail is well marked and mostly paved (or cobbled). That said, it isn't easy and you must be reason ably fit - I am 60+ and pretty fit but sections had me puffing d panting and taking short pauses because there are lots of uphills. You also need good footwear because even though it is mostly paved/cobblestoned it is uneven and in a few places reverts to a dirt track. That said, it is well worth the challenge and the spectacular views and opportunity to get out into nature are both major positives.

We walked from Camogli to Punta Chiappa and on to San Fruottosso .
Leaving Camogli it was lovely walking along the path through village houses and seeing the olive groves then along the coastal path . Section required hanging on to chains but the views of the coastline , mountains and blue water not to be missed .
Steep in sections and hanging on to chains in sections do would not recommend for those ho are not reasonably fit

We accidentally stumbled across this hike one afternoon and I'm so glad we did. Straight out of Camogli, it's a gentle climb to the beautiful San Rocco church, then a lovely coastal walk the rest of the way to Punta Chiappa with beautiful views. We then caught the boat back to Camogli from Porto Piddochio.

Liguria has many spectacular (and some like this one also quite serious walks) and this one is one of the best - the views are unbelievable. I never get tired of doing it. The best time is from autumn to spring but a warm summer evening has to be tried as does a sunny winter's day.

Ciao, FIORELLA. Cosa desideri sapere su questa attrazione? I sentieri sono difficili o praticabili anche con bambini? Grazie Fiorella

Cara, puoi fare tranquillamente il sentiero con bambini dai cinque anni in su. Il ritorno è un in salita. Usare scarpe un po’ robuste (no sandaletti)
