Found our way up through the narrow alleyways and quite steep footpaths in some places from the lake shore to arrive at the Chiesa di San Benedetto.

A notice at the entrance reminds visitors in several languages that certain dress standards are expected inside. Scarfs and cloths are provided to drape around shoulders or cover the legs etc for any unprepared visitors.
Inside, the cool sanctuary and dimly lit space is a welcome change from the mid-afternoon heat outside. Candles can be lit and private time to reflect and absorb the religious setting is afforded.

A beautifully maintained church..worth a visit

Beautiful church. Loved the art and architecture inside. Lovely and peaceful. The usual candle lighting etc. The bells really can be heard throughout the town. Worth a visit for sure!

This place was a lovely walk into the mountains in the old part of Limone . Walk up past the stream & waterfalls & see plenty of restaurants & bars to stop & relax at . It is a fair walk but worth it for the views both inside & outside of the Chiesa .

We only had an hour or so before our boat left so we decided to find the church. We could hear the bells from the harbour so we followed them up the hill and through the town. Not an easy walk if you have health issues as quite steep, so please take you time, and it's not that far.
The church looks really proud as it stands on the hill and you can't help but to look up at he high steeple as you approach.
Free entry was nice, and we had the place to ourselves, which was a bonus. Not a lot of literature inside was in English so we didn't find out much about the history of the church, but a really pretty one non the less.
There is a lot of highly polished marble on most surfaces and this really stands out against the dark walls of the church. I can see the church is obviously used by the locals and you can feel the love all around you.
We spent a highly enjoyable 30 mins or so in the building and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Easy to get to without steep climb from waterfront. Walk along waterfront to muti story car park. Walk to the lift at the back. On the top floor exit then walk along narrow lanes to your right. No hills this way.

Very easy walking along the prom. You can walk from the car park area all the way to the Panorama hotel and beyond. Easy walking with lots of eating places and shops along the way. There is a shop that sells everything Lemon and is a must browse.

The church was close to our hotel and we were treated to bell ringing at various times. Decided therefore to pay a visit to the church itself and was amazed at the artwork inside along with the ornate architecture. A peaceful space and you learn of the Saint himself.
