If you want to inform tourists about the history of lemon and related sorts than make sure that the information is in English for a great part and not in Italian. The English part is very small and as a tourist who pays €2,00 for this visit you want to get a good info. It is not quite inviting for people who are disabled.

Very interesting to see all the different citrus fruits and learn a bit about how they used to be grown. Definitely worth a visit

It's well worth paying the €2 admission for a short visit to this Limonaia. It's very well looked-after, gives you some stunning views and in the central Castel building you will find some insight into the history of citrus fruit cultivation in this part of the world (tip: good toilets here, too). Strolling past the lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit trees, you can imagine what most of the Limone shore was like at one time. Lovely.

Good to see how the citrus trees are looked after and cultivated, interesting historical facts, worth the 2euros.

Small place but very nice to see how lemons, oranges and other critics were grown in Northern Italy. I loved walking here, seeing trees full of lemons and smelling them and their flowers (good to know: May and April are not a good months to visit if you have pollen allergy). Also views of the lake and Liomone are really nice from here. The walk up the Castel is not difficult, but definitely not for mobility impaired folks. We visited in the morning and it wasn't very crowded. When you go down from the Castel the first gift shop you see is the most authentic one, different than the ones in the city (port area); I bought some good quality items, all lemon related.

It's a bit of a trek uphill to this but it is worth it. Lots of different varieties of citrus fruits grow there and it goes through the history of all the lemon growing in the area. You also get great views across Limone. The only thing missing is a gift shop. They're missing a trick by not selling some limoncello!

On arrival in Limone the directions to the lemon museum were clearly signed almost from the boat dismount. Other people have mentioned steep climbs but really unless you a terribly unfit it wasn't too challenging. There were beautiful shops to look in along most of the way to break up the walk if needed. Bars and restaurants too. Nearing the top of the 'hill' there was the option of steep steps or a gentle climb which we opted for in 31 degree heat. The walk in total took us 7-8 minutes.
It cost 5 Euros for 2 adults and 1 14 yr old. This includes an English information leaflet. We arrived at around 2 o'clock expecting it to be really busy at the height of summer but we had almost the whole place to ourselves.
It was so lovely to see lemon, oranges, mandarins, Kumquats, grapefruit all merrily growing away.
There was very informative information on wall plaques in English telling you about the history of some of the landscape you see from the boat as you sail in, which you wouldn't have known otherwise.
There was quite a few steps to climb whilst there so it wouldn't be suitable for you if you find stairs at all challenging.
We were there for around 45 minutes.
They do have toilets but no drinks.
They are certainly missing a trick not selling freshly made lemonade!

Like everything else in town, the lemon groves overlook the lake. It's a great learning experience - to whatever extent you desire - and at a great price. Citrus like you've never seen before.
