Dropped a friend off at the airport and thought we would tour Jerez. All the winery tours were booked so we walked the city. Walked into this little pub where the people were friendly and made us feel at home .Kind of glad there was no room for us on a wine tour. Thank You for being amazing. ❤️🍷🍺

If you are one of these tourists who actually love to have a completely unspoilt local experience, this tabanco is your place. The place sells many different varieties of sherries by the class or fills it into a plastic bottle for you. The prices are rock bottom (a glass of any sherry will set you back 1.50) and the quality is very good. Cristo will also cut you cheese or sausage (go for the butifarra, which comes from Catalonia but works really well with sherry). He serves all sherries cold, which is how sherry (vino to locals) is drunk in Jerez. Have a chat about his bikes (a classic Benelli and a Harley) and invite him for a tinto de verano. Please don't tell him that told you that he speaks English ;-) Spaniards love language and although many speak English they don't want to be reduced to the limits that English sets for them. Cristo (the place and the guy) are wonderful and when you visit castle you'd be stupid not drop by and have Jerez experience of your lifetime.

Stopped here for a quick bite and a drink while waiting for Tiopepe to open. Nice bloke running the place and we had some nice garlic prawns and croquettes.

Found this place after visiting Alcazar de Jerez. Great place to have a rest and have a few glasses of sherry and wines after a lot of walking around Jerez. Met a lot of nice people, both tourists like us and locals. Easy to get stuck there for a few hours. Highly recommended.

We loved our visit to this Casa Cristo winery. The owner is super friendly, you have to let him talk and he explains very interesting things to you... Great variety of Sherry wines to taste. Highly recommended.
