About
Our Fundador Wineries, since 1730, the oldest in Jerez, a place full of memories. Its origin dates back to 1730. It is a very special place due to its centennial walls, ancestral columns, and enologic relics, such as the first Fundador barrel signed by King Alfonso XIII, all of which are considered gems of enology.

I emailed a number of bodegas asking for a script for deaf tourists. This was the only one that came with a positive response. We happily booked a tour followed by a tapas tasting. Wow that was outstanding. The tour itself was very interesting and a fascinating insight of the Sherry making process. There are 40000 barrels in one of the huge buildings with a beautiful aromatic smell. The guide (sorry we can’t remember her name) was very well informed and easy to lipread (hats off to her). We absolutely loved the Sherry tasting afterwards. A glass of Sherry for each tapas (there are 5 of them!) in their beautiful restaurant. Simply so good.

We really enjoyed our visit to Fundador. The visit costs 12 euros, and you can combine this with a meal in the restaurant on site or a tasting of sherry with cheese or brandy with chocolate for a few euros extra. We selected the tasting with cheese and were very impressed with our decision. The visit is very interesting. You see the "Mezquita" which is an enormous cellar dating from 1974 and which stretches into the distance and is full of casks of sherry. You then see the older cellars, including the oldest cellar still in use in Jerez and the museum. The guide was excellent on the history of the brand and of the Harveys brands of sherry as well as how the wine is produced. After about an hour we went into the tasting room and were served 3 glasses of sherry - each with a cheese that favoured the wine. This was very enjoyable and led us into buying some of the product in the shop. Next time we will try and eat in the restaurant which was closed when we visited.

We have just visited Bodega Fundador and experienced a superb tour hosted by Fatima. It was exceptional in every way. Educational and fun. Fatima was such a great guide with a fabulous knowledge and sense of humour.
The tasting experience was equally excellent with both sherries and brandy in a lovely environment.
All the other clients on the tour seemed to enjoy the tour as much as we did and were equally impressed with Fatima.
The shop was bright with all products beautifully displayed with no hard sell.
I cannot recommend this tour and tasting more highly which lasted over two hours and was not rushed at any point.
Fatima is a tremendous asset to Fundador and made our visit so enjoyable.

This visit is really worthwhile; the bodegas are at the heart of Jerez local history. The visit was made all the more amazing by our excellent guide, Fatima. She was super friendly, made everyone welcome, is extremely knowledgeable, very accessible and passionate about the bodega, its history and the wine. A must stop for anyone visiting Jerez or its region!

This is a really excellent and enjoyable tour with wine tasting. The tour lasts about an hour and a half with an interesting commentary from the guide while taking you through a number of the Sherry bodegas around the site. If you take the 12:00 tour on a Friday it includes a visit to the Bodega La Mezquita which is a huge and magnificent bodega known as the cathedral of sherry. We booked the standard €12 tour which included a tasting of two sherries and a brandy with good-sized measures. You can upgrade to an €18 tour with additional wines and tapas. Sherry is available to buy in the bodega gift shop at very reasonable prices.

If you come to Jerez a visit to one of the famous Sherry bodegas is a must. My wife and I visited the Bodega Fundador, one of the oldest bodegas in Jerez and home to some excellent Sherry wines and Brandy’s.
Our tour-guide Aurora did a fantastic job showing us the old and the new part of the bodega and explained very detailed the process from the grapes to the finished product.
After visiting the bodega we also had a tasting of different Sherry’s and a Brandy which we highly recommend. After the tour and the wine tasting we reached the Spanish lunch time and went to the tapas bar of the Bodega which turned out to be a great choice. They serve traditional Spanish food which was delicious and you can keep tasting the Sherry wines if you had not enough yet.
We cannot recommend this tour highly enough. You will definitely enjoy this experience and deep dive into the Spanish history and culture.
Thanks again to Aurora who made the visit very special!!

there are far too many Bodegas in Jerz to choose from but this one grab my attention.
There is only one tour per day which is not too bad but cust your day in two as it's only at midday. I cant remeber how long it was but ther a few choices to choose from. We went for the 3 wines and the barndy that were served at the end of the tour.
We learn a lot from this tour and will recomned to anybody interested in Jerez, wine and brandy.

very nice tour with a good guide who explained everything very well. Of course, the best part of the tour was the sampling part :-). You can't leave Jerez without a visit to a bodega, so why not try this one. We enjoyed it very much

Less organized (read less touristy) than the Tio Pepe tour - but just a short walk from there. This is the oldest Bodega. Our tour guide gave the tour in Spanish and English, supplemented with some French for the one French couple in the group.
At the end, Domecq is much more generous with their tastings than Tio Pepe. We sat with a group from Malaga plus a single Japanese man and had a conversation as we sipped from various bottles at our table until they closed the place. Still don't think the tapas is worth the extra price.

After having called the previous day to make a reservation, we showed up at the right time at the bodega (waking up at 7.30 am to make sure we arrived on time), but the guard just said we were not allowed in. He wasnt trying to explain or look for a solution he just denied us access. There was nothing we could do, but they have definitely lost a client. I will never drink a bottle of domecq in my life. Dont trust these guys, especially when making reservation. We went to another bodega (gonzales byass) and were very happy! I believe things happen for a reason... Thanks for ruining the day Bodegas Pedro Domecq!Â

How do you book a tour? It won’t let me access the website

If you go into the website, at the bottom of the page there is a link
Go in there and ask the different type of tours they do and you then let them know the one you want, the number of people attending and the day
You pay at the bodegas
Hope this helps

Cognac? Aguardente?
