This is our go to lunch place in Cadiz - fabulous atmosphere, a brilliant choice of great food and super value. Our current favourite stall is Punto Chef - top notch cooking - we loved the tataki de vaca marinada con miel y nostaza and revuelto de setas amanita cesarea. Sergio Ramos is a very serious avant guard chef!!

A must visit when in Jerez, its the spanish place to be in the mornings. The market area has a real buzz. Get yourself some churros by the bag, you can't miss it, its the stand in the middle of the plaza and all the locals are queuing for them and once you have choose the paper full get a chocolate at one of the many bars around the edge and start dipping. A wonderful breakfast. Now full go and explore the wonderful market just there its amazing to see the 'art' of the market holders with their fresh fish and fruit and vegetables. Its a great atmosphere and the place is really clean as well. We have been back time again to wander and also buy. The fresh fish is wonderful as is the fruit and veg.
Don't miss it. One of the best best markets we have visited and have been to numerous worldwide.

NOTE: Restaurants around the area will allow you to bring a fish from the market and they will cook it for you

For a real experience of the hustle and bustle of Cadiz its worth a look. For fish lovers like myself it was definitely amazing. If not the stalls along the outside provide great food and fruit, check it out for youself, its only a short walk!

Very much a local market with fresh produce on display. The fish looked like it had just been caught which it probably had. The meat included rabbit and hare waiting to be skinned, was a sight to behold. Not far from Plaza de Arenal so easy to walk to.

This is an excellent fresh food, fish and meat market housed in an excellent building. The inner section contains fish and what fish - huge tuna, cod, hake, squid - you name it was here. Sellers fillet and prepare the fish. The outer section contains outstanding fresh meat and of course vegetables - from huge red peppers to Galician garlic. This is where locals go to shop and this is Spain at its best

The market in Jerez is well worth a visit.

Wonderful fresh produce, beautifully displayed. The atmosphere is electric and trade is brisk. It is quite theatrical - especially around the fish counters.

Massive selection of fish on sale at many stalls.

Surrounding stalls smaller, however still good range of fruit, veg, meat etc. Excellent quality and price.

Independent sellers outside.
Go early morning for best choice as its all over by 2.
