Beautiful old town to stroll around and discover. Many restaurants as well. Great feeling, narrow lanes and open spaces. Helpful tourist agency in the old town.

Caeres is a comparatively small old city with a very large Plaza Mayor. When you climb up into the old part from the Plaza you soon enter the narrow streets and look out over the walls to the plain stretching far below. Enchanting.

If you visit Extramadura, dont miss the old town of Caceres. This middle size with the stork in the coat of arms, has a lot to offer. Walk to the Plaza Mayor and let the small streets covered with stones to take you around the old castle walls, lead you to different sights, gates, palaces, squares. Very original and kept... More

Absolutely everything of the old town of this city is beautiful and magical, with breathtaking buildings that will take you straight into the medieval era just by walking around the streets. Many places to eat, specially small dishes at good price. In the old town try "La cacharrería" and better "Torre de Sande".

It's no wonder that the Old Town of Cáceres is a UNESCO world heritage listed sight because it is a wonderful place. There is so much to see so make sure that you allow yourself enough time here. The views from the Iglesia de San Fransisco Javier has two towers and from them you can get wonderful views of the... More

Incredibly rich in history, atmospheric, and well maintained without being over managed and commercialized (like medieval towns in France or Italy). An architecture/history buff's heaven. The nesting storks and odd peacock wandering the walls and roofs don't hurt! Excellent culinary choices both in and beyond the old quarter.

This town was founded by the ancient Romans. Subsequently it was occupied by different cultures. All this is visible in the form of monuments built in the Roman, Gothic, and Renaissance architecture. Even today the cobbled medieval streets and houses remind you of the bygone age. It is an UNESCO world heritage site.

As the sky dimmed and the lights of the Old Town turned everything golden, we heard beautiful music echoing off the walls around unseen corners. We did not allow enough time to explore this incredible area and we will have to return. Just wandering around was magical but there is so much we did not see. Make sure you allow... More

Extremely well preserved, is probably one of the finest and most beautiful old towns in Spain. Worth a visit. And is Extremadura so go and stuff yourself with the best pork in the world.
