Sit in a cafe and breath in the old history while people watching. A walk in the old city is a great way to see old architecture.

Nothing spectacular and truly hard to get a picture without teenagers hanging out on the stairs. Nice to see but nothing to write home about. The history of this town is truly amazing though... so many beautiful sites... this is just the entrance of your walk through time.

A most interesting archway, giving access to the historical old town. Good photo opportunity. The starting point for tours.

Most people who don't know Cáceres come to the Plaza Mayor, have a drink, and then head up through the Arco de la Estrella. There are a dozen ways into the Ciudad Monumental, and this one is just fine, but it's hardly the most spectacular. The big thing is, wander up alleys, go up random staircases -- explore -- before... Thisis a "must go" place, especially if you are a Tor user. You can touch "das Tor" physically.. And if there are radio waves that go through it you won't know. It is the entrance to a great marketplace, also. You will have a lot of fun if you visit.

This “Arch” seems to be the most interesting entrance of the Plaza Mayor, who is filled with bars and restaurants, you could call it in one way the centre with modern attractions into the mystic of the old town. As already mentioned it is the place to have your diner in the evening on a nice terrace, watching people walking... More

Just so interesting the entrance from the Plaza Mayor with its bars and restaurants the center of modern attractions to the mystic of the old town. Sit and watch people wander by.Its different but not that different, depending on your views. Thought the bars and restaurants a bit worse for wear. Better ones further up the hill towards the shopping... More

As an entry to the old city, one accesses it via the Plaza Mayor. The restaurants across from the Arch provide a great spot to sit and admire the old walls and the entrance. Yes, it's an arch - it was designed to give access through the medieval walls.

This is a perfectly normal arch, so I;m not quite sure why it's seen as so special - sorry, if that seems harsh, but there are many other gateways and they can be just as impressive. This is an imposing entrance to the old town, but the rest of the town is more interesting. So, yes, take photos, admire it,... More
