wrong entry?
May 2018 • Couples
this entry might refer to the entry for the -->Museo de Caceres, given also on the right place on the map, as this here shows the museum in the Santa Ana village far outside of Caceres...

Cute

This is a cute museum, with a number of interesting sights and artefacts, like costumes and sculptures. It does not take much time to browse the whole museum, so give it a go.

Interesting museum
Sep 2016 • Couples
Lots of Roman, Visigoth and Arabic archaeological exhibits shown in an interesting set of rooms.
The piece de resistance is the Cistern perhaps one of the oldest Arabic cisterns in Europe.
There is a Fine Arts exhibition to augment ones visit.
The museum is situated in the old city.

An eclectic mixture in a pleasant modernised building

The Museo Municipal (not to be confused with the Museo de Cáceres in Palacio de las Veletas) contains three stories of art and local heritage. It is free and staffed by friendly people, and you can also pick up a brief information leaflet about the exhibits.

The collection focuses on cultural history, including costumes, photographs and posters from local fairs. There are also historical documents about the city's development and some royal furniture and portraits on the second and third floors as well as modern religious artifacts of regional importance.

The building itself is like many others in the city with a pretty inside garden and a well restored interior. The open tour took a little more than half an hour, but you could easily spend more time here if something was of particular interest.
