The road up to the olive tree is a bit adventurous to drive on. There is a part in the middle when the road becomes really bad, but it is only for a few meters and it's paved again. So just continue on. There is...More

Unfortunately this beautiful peaceful hike up to the olive tree will soon be ruined - the mayor of Kavousi is plowing old trees, archaeological sights and anything else in the way to make the road big enough for Tour Buses !

After a short semi dirt road from Kavousi to the tree we arrive at the tree. It is huge! 14 meter in demeter. 3250 years old!

It's a facinating tree and the info board is interesting. Recommend driving up to it though as otherwise a long walk from the bottom
