- Jorge S3 contributionsFor antique loversI think it's a beautiful walk if you have more than a week of accommodation in Paris, otherwise leave it for next time Let's clarify that it is not what we call Flea Market in Argentina. Antiques that the French State certifies as such prevail (there are no Chinese imitations) If you are going to look for second-hand vintage clothing or footwear, don't goVisited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 31, 2024
- Betty L8 contributionsInterestingIt's interesting but too loud. The food stands are shielded, we are tight as sardines and difficult to be heard. Fortunately, some booths have introduced a ticket system, which is clever to avoid conflicts between customers. Sellers are generally quite commercial, they know how to capture your attention by their swagger. The products are fresh especially meat (do not drag to preserve the cold chain) and juicy and sweet fruits but often too mature. Prices are attractive and can be paid by credit card.Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 22, 2024
- Govert M8 contributionsStrolling in marche aux puce de st.OuenWalk from metro to market is short. You’ll wander through the cluttered pre-market and find yourself in an area full of affordable antiques, only to end up in a warehouse of priceless, but great designer studios. Here and there a little restaurant or cafe. Great place for a morning or afternoon stroll.Visited January 2025Traveled as a coupleWritten January 5, 2025
- Thierry F10 contributionsA real cavern of Ali-Baba, but at Paris prices...A treat to prick. We really find everything in the fleas of Saint Ouen. Vintage, antique, antique, furniture and artefacts of all origins, collector’s clothing, books, records and a whole bunch of sometimes surprising objects. Outside the different markets, you should not hesitate to also walk the streets. The only drawback: the place is very well known, professional antique dealers are numerous and therefore the prices are not always very interesting. But this is probably the best place in France to find the rarity you are looking for.Visited January 2025Traveled soloWritten January 12, 2025

Paris is an old city. Compared to Australia, where I come from we are just babies. Seeing such an accumulation of antiques and ephemera in one place was simply mind-blowing for this Aussie! Prices aren't cheap, especially when you convert our weak dollar into euros BUT, you will not see a lot of the stuff here anywhere else. It's not like a regular market with temporary stalls either. A lot of the vendors have bricks and mortar shops. There are a few food vendors, but we found them difficult to find. If you are into antiques, this is a must see.

Visited with my family as one of them loves markets and retro pics and paintings.
There are plenty of shops and stalls with stuff ranging from antique lamps and statues, old victorian photos and retro magazines all the way to old fashion items and jewellery.
We picked up some nice drawings and paintings from one of the outdoor alleys.
A cool day out if you like shopping with a twist and haggling for bargains.

aris de Saint Ouen:
Positive:
Les Puces de Paris de Saint Ouen is a treasure trove with a plethora of stalls offering everything from antiques and curiosities to genuine and imitation items. The bustling atmosphere adds to its charm, and the presence of delightful eateries enhances the overall experience.
Negative:
While navigating this vibrant market, it’s crucial to be vigilant about your belongings as incidents of theft are quite common. Additionally, be prepared for occasional hassling by vendors trying to sell items like earphones and phones. Despite these minor inconveniences, Les Puces de Paris de Saint Ouen remains a captivating and enjoyable destination.

I probably don't understand the concept of a flea market, but to me everything was overpriced and a lot was shoddy. There are some very upscale shops in here, too. Seems like a tourist trap to me. I'm sorry I bothered to go.

As other people have said this is a collection of markets. The one by the metro station is bric a brac and I stepped into it and quickly out again. I found the more up-market market area and it had beautiful items but nothing that I wanted to buy and could transport by plane. There were antique and collectors shops but nothing that appealed. What I hoped to find was craft stalls with ornaments, jewellery etc but I couldn’t find that area - if there was one, which was a shame as it felt like a wasted journey.

Great markets with variety of goods including antiques, jewelry, household stuff, fashions, electrical stuff etc. A very nice place to spend time and particularly good if you are interested in digging and finding unusual good stuffs. The strollers are very friendly. You will find it entertaining, if you are good at bargaining too.

It disappointed me. The antiques part is good and the place is nice.
But vintage clothes are few and expensive. Better in Les Marais.
In the end you waste your time looking at a lot of stalls with imitation crap

Fun place to visit for browsing, shopping and design inspiration. Do NOT believe the website or Google: in 2022 it’s no longer open on Fridays (from our waitress, it sounded like it changed during the pandemic). Fortunately we had time to return on a Sunday and had a great time.

I've been here 3 times over the years and each time I come, I have an even better time because I have my routine down more each time. It is easy to have a bad experience here because of the nature of the neighborhood, or not knowing which markets to look in, for example.
My favorite is the marché Vernaison, at 99 rue des rosiers. I love going into all the little stalls and poking around all the amazing vintage postcards, vintage perfumes...yesterday I bought a pair of pearl drop earrings from the 40's, a pack of Air France matches from the 30's, vintage french cigarette papers and a small bottle of Lanvin perfume from 1971. Last time I came I got a vintage made in France gold painted hair barrette that I love. And of course, I love wishfully looking at the antique furnitures, the fine china, the silver...I also saw an antique carousel horse and knight's armor !! If you like flea markets this place will be heaven for you. And it's so full of French charm and character! There are cafés and restaurants on some corners with live piano music - so lovely.
So you've probably read that the area is shady. This is how you do it - do not take the metro here (the line 4 to Clignancourt), if you don't want people shoving stolen iphones and fake leather in your face, touching you, and harassing you as you make your way through the crowds on the 10 minute walk between the metro station and the Puces. This walk is especially daunting if you're not 100% sure where you're going. So, the best way to get here is by BUS. The bus number 85 stops RIGHT in front of the Marché Vernaison, the stop is called Marché aux Puces. This is the best way to get there. Take the metro line 7 to Cadet, and then catch the bus 85 right outside the metro stop, you can't miss it (in the direction of Mairie de Saint-Ouen). This way, you avoid walking in any sketchy areas on your way to the market. You can connect to this this bus from a number of other metro stops, such at Barbès-Rochechouart, but some might argue that this area is a bit seedy as well. The bus extends all the way down to Luxembourg, but with traffic and everything I don't recommend you take the bus all the way from the left bank up to St-Ouen. It's easier to take the metro up and connect to the bus. For tourists I recommend getting the bus at the Cadet metro stop. Then once you're there, basically stay west of Avenue Michelet and you'll be all set. It's quite obvious which areas are seedy and which are not. Also, bring all the cash you want to spend with you. Most vendors only accept cash and it's very hard to find at ATM there. I did find an ATM on the non-sketchy side once, another time I had to walk into sketch-land for the ATM, but no matter where you a machine, you will walk for awhile and you will wait on line - just bring your cash with you. To return after your time at the markets, take the same bus in the other direction, just across the street from where you got off when you arrived (It's a small narrow street, you can't miss it). Have fun!

This flea market is definitely worth the trip. When you get out of the metro, skip all the street vendors selling clothes, t-shirts, cheap jewelry and souvenirs. This part of the market is crowded and messy - watch out for pick pockets. Head straight for rue des Rosiers and explore all the little antique and vintage stores. There's everything from antique furniture and art, to vintage clothes, accessories, linens, old postcards and stamps, even a vintage keychain store.

Hi-
I’m looking to be in Paris next July. I’m looking for an affordable diamond engagement ring. Looking to spend less than $3000. Any good bargain places in Paris like they have in NYC?
Thanks!

ive shopped there on 2 different occasions. The places with the jewelry I felt were higher priced than I expected and I work in luxury retail! There are a number of shops with jewelry but I’m not sure if you’ll find what you want. But, go, explore and treat it like a hunt, you never know what you’ll find!!!! It’s great fun.
