We walked to these waterfalls from the nearby lake and it was worth it. To view you have to pay to enter but it is worth it although it is a long and in places steep walk to reach the top level. Many might be content just to view the main waterfall at the base, the upper one is perhaps too long a climb for some and not as spectacular. In places the footpath is not good for less agile people

We visited the waterfall early in the morning, before we departed from our hotel nearby, so we did not even have to buy the tickets, there was no one at the gate. The waterfall was strong and abundant thanks to the rain those days.
We briefly enjoyed the scenery and left. It was worthwhile.

Approx 40 minute drive from Salzburg, would be lengthy walk from Golling railway station, well signposted Wasserfalle as approach town. Plenty of free parking, easy 10 minute walk to base of waterfall and further 15 minutes up many steps to top. Good paths and lovely forest setting. Cafe at base, entry fee €2.50 adult. Lots of other walks in area. Kids will enjoy.

In general there's nothing bad to say about those waterfalls. Visually they are great and especially on hot summerdays the area is nicely refreshing.
The big minus is the amount of people. It is terribly crowded and the walking trail is too narrow to comfortably take over. I understand that people stop to make pictures and enjoy the views, but with those amounts of people, some of them who even make it hard to pass by even though they are just watching, it's a bit of a buzzkill for me. Of course 98% of people don't bother wearing masks though they can't keep proper distance.
Furthermore the directions to the parking (which of course is also overcrowded if you don't come early) aren't exactly great either.
Can be done, but the great views not neccessarily outweigh the minuses.

Taking a train from salzburg to golling was a 20 minute ride. although, I advise having a car or bike as the walk to the waterfall takes about 35 minutes. The walk to the waterfall is filled with beautiful country houses with open green fields. The ambient background is soothing while walking down the road, also the view of the mountains is absolutely stunning as it is always in your front view, always reminds by it's presence. The waterfall has a cafe/ticket cashier which is moderately priced. The journey to the the top is slippery as the water is rushing down so fast ,you can feel it everywhere around you but there are always wood planks to help you stabilize your feet . The journey to the top is increasingly rewarding as more views are unlocked . I have reached the witches tower and didn't complete the full path due to time commitment. You will be doing yourself a great favor if you reach the iron bridge crossing the waterfall itself,do not quit before then,it takes time but is worth your while

Found this waterfall by accident because it is well sign posted. Asked the ticket seller how far to the waterfall because we didn't have a lot of time. He said 10 minutes. After 10 minutes you reach a beautiful waterfall, one of the best. A solid flow free falls down the centre and on the sides it cascades down several levels.
Thankfully we are adventurous and decided to investigate the rest of the path up the mountain. At the top there is a thunderous overfall. Long free fall drop which creates a spectacle of spray coming through a cave like opening. But right at the top there is a beautiful, peaceful pond which somehow feeds the turmoil below.
A MUST SEE,

We enjoyed this waterfall on the way back from a daytrip to Salzburg (we stayed in Bad Ischl). It is not the most amazing / impressive I have ever seen, but if you are in the area it is a nice place to visit. The walk there is not so long and there is also the option to walk on to the top (we didnt go, so I dont know how it is).
Family with baby info:
You cannot go all the wayt with a baby stroller or so, as there are many rocks and roots - but it is not so far that you cannot just carry the little child or let them walk a bit holding your hand.

This place is not so big, just a minute from a parking place (for free) and entry is also not expensive. U can go there with kids as the climbing is not so hard, u can choose from 3 levels to climb up. In summer it is really refreshing to let waterfall blow the drops of water in your face. Nice spending 1-2 hours there.

It’s absolutely worth to see it. It’s not huge but very beautiful: it likes a water dress 👗 is running down . The drops barely just touching a lot of mossy stones and bounce fast up further down...
It’s a easy a climb for children 5 years old and above ....so long you can climb! It takes 1 hour. You can get in the car to the a parking next to an entrance to waterfall . It’s not expensive.

Our first major stop on our way from Vienna Airport to Salzburg, was to the tiny hamlet of Golling, conveniently situated just off the highway, and famous for its prominent Waterfalls. After a week of continuous rains, we expected to view a fair quantity flowing down the steep and narrow Salzach River, but were blown away by the massively powerful volume of this furiously impressive waterfall, consisting of an upper and a lower cascade descending the sheer cliff-side. For the hike-challenged, one really need not proceed to the upper cascade, as the lower one is more than sufficiently impressive...
A brief and easy hike from the attractive entry-way, guarded by an affable and helpful local who took a nominal entry-fee from us, this short climb was well-worth the trouble of tracing the site through the streets of the village and up the mountain-side. The trail is safe and protected by a guard-rail most of the way, making it user-friendly for most age-groups, but be sure to carry a brolly or a rain-jacket against the powerful spray, and sturdy footwear is well-recommended. On your way out, spotless toilets and an attractive gift shop, also offering light snacks, provide added value. Lovely first glimpse of the Salzkammergut...

Officially it is not open after 31st of October (and not accessible). But of course it is nature, so everything is accessible if weather conditions and will allow it.

А есть ли какие нибудь ограничения на посещение этого водопада? Я имею ввиду туда можно придти в любое время суток и свободно пройти? Например в 5 утра?

There is a fee yes and how long does it take to hike?

Up and back an hour is plenty. If you just go to the base it's about 5-10 mins.

Hi, can I go with my one year old baby to the waterfall or will it be difficult? thanks in advance.
Written April 28, 2015
Hey, its not accessible with a pram as there are many stairs and uneven ground. You could carry your baby to the bottom of the waterfall. as its only 5-10min walk to the bottom. To the top it get more steeper and difficult to walk up.
